this private show was called Green Sunday and was an enviormental awareness concert associated with the DNC and featured Sheryl Crow, Sugarland and D&T. Not much was known by anyone about this show and I honestly didn't know if Dave was actually there until the lead singer of sugarland said Dave Matthews was coming on next. I got a ticket last minute on craigslist for way too much money from some jerk who got it for free, but whatever, missing a possible D&T at RR was not an option so I did what had to be done.
Dave's voice was raspy and he apologized right away, saying it had been a tough week. I was only expecting about an hour, but 11 songs and a few hours later they finally finished. Highlight was definitely the cover of American Tune.
Setlist: bartender, sdl, wayg, crush, american tune, tim solo (?), out of my hands (dave played piano), nancies; encore: gd, ed, ants
hopefully someone else can confirm what the timmy solo was, I think it was either stream or betrayal.
All and all a great night, never expected to see Dave at RR this year, what a treat!
