A few notes from the show...for anyone that has never been to the greek theater it is a beautiful little amphitheater that seats about 5000 I would guess. Anyways it was a great place to see a Dave concert, and by getting there early and the entire venue being gen adm I was able to get the best seats Ive ever had for a show...Another note is the band did not seem to show the same sadness that had been described in reviews on the previous shows.

The Stone- IMO the best opener this band has to offer. Standard version with the "falling in love with you outro"

OSW- Personally I love this song. I think everyone misses the insturmental intro but it is still perfect in the 2 spot on any set list.

DDTW- was not expecting this because it has been primarily opening or in the encore all year but it was nice to see it mid-set. this land is my land interpolation and this song never gets old :thumbsup

So Damn Lucky- im 6 for 6 now this year with it and i think each time i see it its better. cant get enough of the outro great great song. if timmy recorded with them i wouldnt mind seeing this on the new album at all because it is so different from the SD version

Dancing Nancies- Man what a run to start the show so far. this was the best version of this that i have ever heard except for maybe fenway park. boyd was virtually perfect on his solos.

--I thought they were going to transition into warehouse which is one of my favorite DMB moments and I have never seen warehouse live. Dave was talking to the band members during the final jam and i was praying he was setting up the warehouse transition but oh well still have two more nights.

Eh Hee- Not my favorite but I do think it sounds better this year with the electric sound that tim brings to it. also dave told an abbreviated version of the story he tells about this song at the radio city show

Water/wine- love this and how it has evolved over the tour. im not sure about this and i am too tired/lazy to check right now but i think this has been done right after eh hee before. I think it flows nicely maybe it will end up on the new album in that order.

Gravedigger- first real dissapointment of the night for me...just doesnt translate that well into full band IMO.

Grey Street- This was one of the hilights of the night for me. yes its unfortuneate that the third verse has dissapeared but coffin absolutely teared this apart and its always a great song.

Dreaming tree- we bitch a lot about songs that dont get played enough on this site but it is a great thing that this has been in regular rotation this year...what a masterpiece..and jeff had a great flute solo on the outro

stay or leave- hadnt heard this full band from the gorge yet...and man was i missing out...it starts with just dave tim and carter and then the horns boyd and stefan come in and really jam it out...i loved every second of this...if you havent heard it yet you need to get it.

corn bread- knew it was coming...actually really like this song live the band has a great time playing it and the crowd loves it...love tims solo daves dance and the horn part after tims solo. before the song the crowd got a carter chant going, then a tim chant, then a boyd chant and all three acknowledged the crowd, it was a nice moment.

burning down the house- first time hearing it and enjoyed it quite a bit...short and sweet the crowd loved it. and you gotta love rashawn singing on this one :lol

41- wow. i saw warren haynes' guitar being tuned before the show and knew he was in town so had a feeling he would show up. he looked very uncomfortable at first but when it came time for him to solo he killed it. watching him play with and then duel with and then play with tim reynolds is one of the most amazing things i have ever seen...rashawn and jeff had a great jam on this as well..best 41 i have ever heard certainly worth a listen.

ASTB- I believe it was before this song that dave said this about roi...(loosely) as long as this band continues to play...as long as we can put up with it...there wont be a time were on stage that we wont think of our friend roi....this inspired some roi chants from the crowd.

what followed next was a long discussion from the band which in hindsight they needed to plan this ASTB too much fake. They started and stopped normally but then when they seemed to actually start they stopped again, and then did more beats than ususal once they did start...and then they paused on ASTB a few times...anyways tough to explain but i love this song this year with timmy.

Too Much (fake) - > Tripping Billies- Standard great way to close a set in my opinion.

Sister- Not a horrible song but I would rather have Ill back you up for a quiet song in the e1 spot. I think if they did something with this song similar to what they did with OOMH this year it would be alot better...give carter stronger drum beat and get the horns in on it.

Two Step- Standard version...when the clock hit 11 someone working with the venue tried to signal to dave that he past curfew by giving him the cut throat sign...when dave didnt respond he started shining a flashlight in his eyes which i think caused dave to almost fumble the lyrics on the third verse...i wonder if they had a thrid song planned in the encore that they had to cut becuase i doubt the guy wanted him to drop everyting right in the middle of two step.

anyways all in all this was a great show.. good set and great performances...i am looking forward to tomorrow night

EDIT: sorry its so long

I just got back, too. Lotta chanting. Basically, there were chants (by name) for every musician on stage. I'm not big on the chanting.

I thought Stay or Leave was pretty milquetoast full band and I'll take Gravedigger any way I can get it, otherwise I agree with most of what the OP said.

#41 was definitely the highlight tonight with the Warren/Tim duel. I'm guessing since Warren doesn't live in the area, he's here all three nights.

Dave said goodbye before the song, so I think it was the planned final song. But you thought Two Step was standard? You must be a lucky man and seen some epic Two Steps, or left before Carter went nuts.

well it was standard for 2008 with tim and carter solos..but yes it was probably the best ive seen this year although the one at crew was great as well

someone gave dave the cutthroat sign? damn curfews

and its "Two Step > Halloween Intro/Tease > Two Step" imo lol. 6 min carter solo.. incredible.

Did they do the #34/video tribute to 'Roi like they did at the Gorge?

I'm flattered I improved someone's vocabulary! So you can use it and impress your friends, it sounds like you're saying "milk toast." ;)

I was disappointed with the full-band Stay or Leave cos I'm always so struck by the Dave and Tim renditions. The full-band take left me wanting more. I thought it lacked a certain umph.

Great show Warren was a bonus loved #41 really cool, don't know how we (the audience) synced up with that song during the Warren chant its like everyone knew what to do really fun. DDTW had so much energy and images on lcd screens really stood out to make a point.

By far the best DMB show ive been to didnt know that they havent played there in 13 years that made it so special.
