New to guitar

Whats up guys,

I just started and playing and am curious about a few things.

I would like to start off by learning some DMB songs but I am confused about the tabs. Could someone let me know how to correctly read a tab. Also, is working from the tabs a good way to learn how to play or should I start somewhere else.

Any help you guys can provide is greatly apprciated. Thank you.

i'd learn the basic open chords before tackling tabs.

take a few lessons just to get the fundamentals down...like how to hold the guitar etc

my suggestion is to search for "new to guitar" in this forum, you will probably find 10-20 threads on the subject with lots of help. plus manybe they will answer some questions you dont know you have.
