Build it yourself?

Ive always been interested in building my own guitar effects. Ive never been very good at circuitry so i dont get very far but ive seen easy ways to make a talk box. ill post a you tube video later, anyways i was wondering if anyone here has tried this or any other similar projects?

PS: the most successful thing ive ever built was a permanently distorted guitar (kinda worthless but hey it worked!)

Best place to start. It's like paint by numbers. It will give you a good idea on how things work in guitar pedals.
