View Full Version : I need a DMB STD!!!

Lately, I've just been so lonely and down! After many late nights, laying on my couch, drinking a bottle of wine I've just found myself thinking "I would be soo much happier if I had an STD to keep me company! But not one of those normal STDs like the HIV, I want a full blown DMB STD!" I know, I know...maybe I shouldn't be so picky. But hell, a girl can dream right?!
So...where are all those DMB STDs?!?!?! I know you're out there!!!

The DMB clap. Gotta love it.
Continuing on to what I was saying before, I am/was excited for my hike tomorrow but it's raining really hard all day today so I know the ground will be an absolute mess.
But I'm still looking forward to FUN-due.

We're supposed to get some flooding around here, I hope it doesn't do the same out your way. :( How badly does the weather have to be for you to cancel the hike?

The thing is, we're hiking Mt. Misery like I said before and, when hiking a mountain, it's important to have good footing! If it's all slippery slopes, there's no point in going. I would just do cardio instead and save the hike for next weekend after things dry up.

Speaking of flooding, I'm have to comment on the Nuvaring. I took out my third ring on Sunday. I can finally predict when my period is going to start and stop, the cramps are completely gone (which may be due to my workin out as well), but I have the heaviest flow that I've ever had to deal with. Overall, I'd take a higher tampon budget over cramping anyday.

Question:
Seeing as I have no idea what this thread is supposed to actually be - far as I can tell it's more of a chat thing anyways - I would like some input...
I'm sick. I have a sore throat, a stuffed up head, and I feel fuzzy.
I don't think it's strep, as I have had strep well over 2 dozen times in my life (no joke) and the signs just aren't there.
It's not a sinus infection, as I have no sinus pressure or discomfort.
Basically, I'm dry and stuffed up...and my throat hurts.
I don't want to take a medication, for fear of becoming immune (I've already become immune to Erythromycin and mild-moderate strength Amoxicillin)
I've been drinking warm peppermint and lemon tea with a little honey, drinking lots of fluids, sucking back mild broth, and gargling with warm salted water.
Anyone have any other suggestions?

Josh is right. I've had a cold all week, finally feeling better today. Add some Vitamin C pills or orange juice loaded with it, that will help boost your immune system.

I feel guilty for skipping class today...but I can barely talk. When I do use my voice, I go into a coughing fit.
It sucks because I'm not used to being sick in this way. I can deal with infections that require medications...I don't know what to do when I get the common cold/common sore throat :lol

have you heard of Zechs Marquise? It's Omar Rodriguez-Lopez's brothers' band and they're really good, they remind me of Omar's solo stuff, but a little more jazzy

Threads get locked/deleted when someone makes inappropriate posts. With any luck, they will just get edited, and put back. But if people keep pulling shit like this and making the mods/admins jobs harder than they are just going to toss it out.
Doesn't need to be an alter.

We went to the gym instead of going for a hike. On Saturday during the day we lazed around a bit and I made a delicious brunch. I did some shopping for new clothes and ended up buying all new dishes. :lol We went out for fondue for dinner. Overall, it was a good day. :) Yesterday we hit up the gym and then went to the grocery store. I worked for most of the day after that but I was in the kitchen long enough to put together my white bean chicken chili to let it simmer for a few hours. It was delish! Other than that, nothing exciting to report.

It's tough outside to keep a good pace. Even if on the treadmill you do the random routine where hills come and go the treadmill keeps your pace. Outside it is not so easy for me to keep my pace. And I should clarify with "was" as opposed to "is". I haven't been running in about 6 months.

I wish I could actually run - but it absolutely kills me. I think its due to my bad knees, and one leg is shorter than the other, so it hurts my hips and back. I run on the high school track next door, and feel a world of difference between how my knees feel running on it versus running on the road. You can build your endurance without beating up your joints too much, so if and when you finally do a race, and it is on roads, the transition is easier than it would be if you always used a treadmill then tried to do a road race.

I wasn't a part of making the dinner, so I can't say everything that went into it. We had pasta with a vodka tomato sauce (I think), chicken, garlic bread and salad. Then we had french toast souffle for breakfast which was also delicious.
Much better.

There are athletic stores where someone will watch you walk and then run on a treadmill, study how your feet land with each stride and decide what shoe will give your foot the best support for running.
Do you think they would do this at Dick's? Or would I have to find a better store than that? My whole body has shifted in posture and weight. My feet have also shrunk. I'm still working out and starting to run with the same sneakers I had awhile back and I just doubt they're doing me any good.

I think they would do it at a Dick's, but not our Dick's. I remember one by where I lived in Cleveland was massive and they had stuff like that and the rock wall and all kinds of crazy athletic stuff. I think the one by us is just too small.

Never heard of them. I have a $25 Best Buy gift card. What should I get?
I only know of two exisiting albums, with another coming out soon. The first is "The Daytrotter Sessions" EP, which is all acoustic and very pretty. There is also "The dust of retreat" which I've had repeating in my car for a number of weeks now. Jeff and I were going to go to Indianapolis in a few weeks to see them, but we have a wedding to go to that night.

He's pretty much into only classic rock and bands that came out in the 90s, like Smashing Pumpkins, STP, etc. I know one of his favorites that many people don't seem to know is Uriah Heep.

If the food you're intaking isn't keeping up with all the energy you're expending working out, you should look into that. Sure, it's a great way to loose weight, but you also need to maintain a healthy balance. With all your working out, you should be able to eat close to what you were eating and still see a change.

I need to find a track in the area first. But we're talking baby steps for now.
There are two places I know of near you where you can run.
1) Gorgas Park
2) Pachella Field (names after my great-grandfather...Dago Louie, the locals made them change the name a few years back)
I'm sure the are plenty of others in the area too.

Not too bad...just getting over a cold so it's nice to have a fully functioning brain for the first time in like 4 days.
I'm in the process of writing a novel...which I'm finding exceedingly difficult when you factor in my full time student status :(

Although I have never left the country, I have been seriously considering moving. Most likely, I'll end up in Chicago (the actual city), but there are some days where I am like fuck it and just want to move to London.

update:
I felt like shit during class and I'm so weak I can barely made it up the stairs to my place. Something's obviously fucked. I was thinking it might be an STD but a) I use condoms and b) I assume they have some incubation period, not kicking my ass this bad the day after.
school nurse booked me for next monday morning, we see if i make it that long. Seriously I feel like i can sleep for the next like 6 months (can one develop narcolepsy just out of the blue??)

Since I've been in class all day, I'll respond to the recent topics, but anyways:
I really need to get back in the habit of going on a treadmill everyday, or doing some sort of workout everyday, because I always start, and then after awhile, I stop, and it's not an uncommon problem I know, it just always happens.
LeeAnne, I read your advice in the weight loss thread about the meal portions and everything, and will hopefully be able to start that soon, and I need to get running shoes. Damn it, so much to do!! But I need to do it. This has turned into rambling, so I'll stop.
I'm seriously considering moving out of the country, it's gone to shit, but will probably not be able to anytime soon, with my no salary now, and teacher's salary in the future.
