So I know it probably depends on the day and mood your in but I was curious on what you guys think is the most fun song to play on acoustic that is DMB.
I think for me I would have to rank it this way:
1. Lie In Our Graves
2. Stay or Leave
3. So Damn Lucky
4. #41
5. Crash
Anyone else?

so damn lucky is super fun to play when you learn it....the hardest part of the song is the verse when you have to "flutter" your fingers to get the sound dave does but practice makes perfect! Here is how I learned the song

This guy makes it really easy to learn and play DMB

I don't have my privs so I can't make a new topic and I decided I'd just put it in this one, but can anyone make a video of how to finger pick Grace Is Gone?
I'm a terrible finger picker. I've only been playing consistently for about two years and have never done any finger picking except for Christmas Song (:lol)
Grace seems easy enough, just thought some visual would help.

Did you look to see if dmbtabs has a video up for that section? Another place would be youtube...there seems to be a myriad of "dave lessons" on there....god knows if they're accurate..I haven't watched them.

This list looks like my regular songs, take away crash, watchtower, crush, and warehouse. I have never learned warehouse all the way through. I just thought about that. I need to get on that right away.
My telecaster comes in tomorrow, so I'll be neglecting the martin for a while.

well looks like you got a solid list of regular songs then :)
you should really learn warehouse all the way through! if you know the intro/verse, the rest of the song is cake!
i also definitly recommend learning crush.. that is a GREAT song to play and sing to at the same time

well, any finger picking all you really use is you thumb(mostly for bass) and pointer and middle for higher melodies. Learn blackbird and you'll have the basics down.

So, for GIG is Dave just using his thumb and index finger or is he using his middle one too? I guess I just have problems placing my fingers, I don't know, I just suck at finger picking.

I also like to find new ways to segue into songs to jam out a bit. My favorite would have to be taking the middle section out of Metallica's "To Live is to Die" and go into Gravedigger. Some others I have done:
Ain't It Funny (How Time Slips Away)---> Grace Is Gone
If I Had it All --> Minarets
I also like messing around with tLWS Captain ---> Billies
