Ok,
Since a lot of us enjoy playing and making music, some of us even are in bands. I thought it would be a good idea to make this the thread where we can all post and share. Were we can reference eachothers work without having to search.
So here is the idea,
Post You band name or your name and a link to your myspace, or download site.
Then post the songs that are there, like if you are doing a cover or some origional stuff. When you put up new music, just quote your old post and redo the information.
Ideally we could get this a little sticky if it works out.

Alex Van Horne
http://profile.myspace.com/avh87music
I have 5 origional songs up
Last Man On Earth, See It, This Street, Sipping My Coffee, Trouble Coming
I have recently done a very poor job of trying to do a "full band" version of Last Man On Earth with my buddy. It was a lot of fun though and as a rough copy its good i think.
(most of the songs were done on a 10 dollar mic from best buy, so take them for what they are, the "full band" song was done through garage band and a $20 condenser mic.)

I like this. Since I've probably created more than my fair share of threads anyways. This is a good board though, with a lot of people who really know what they are doing and a great place to get feedback. :) Hopefully this takes off!

But really, as far as my first original EP, if you want it, and the $ is a turnoff, just PM me and I'll just give you a link to it for free. Mostly I just want it to be out there :)
I'm currently in the midst of ProTools-ing a new tune, so it should be finished in a year or six, after I smash a few computer screens and guitars... I'll share it and add it to the relevant places when it's done.
Take care ya'll.

Notice, three posts and no feedback about each others' music. Not to be a downer, i hope this works out.
But the problem is that no one is willing to listen to anothers' music and give constructive feedback, props, or any intelligent comment at all. (ok, not no one, but almost no one).
So good luck, but you'll probably just have a 10-page thread with single posts that never get referenced or quoted.

Myspace.com/auh87music - Chill and relaxing the 2 songs I listened to. Kinda of a dark feel to the lyrics and the guitar, I like that. I want to hear Last Man On Earth with some drums and possibly a full band so keep on trying to get that cut either way nice job.
Pocket of 3 - Not really my style of music I listen to but you play drums nicely. I like the horn incorportated into your sound.
Dave Grodski - Sweet sound man. Love the Down for you song. Good touch by adding the vocal harmonies to the song.
Left to Tell - Suprisingly nice! Great mix between hard rock and Alternative, kinda sound a little bit like Switchfood, great melodies and I enjoyed the music guys.

Thanks bud! I appreciate it!
Okay I finally got around to checking out everyone on here, so far.
Bound2Be - Dig It man! You guys are great. The Bartender cover you have on your youtube was awesome, and the other videos look like you guys have some great times at your shows. The stuff on your myspace is cool too. Singer has some good vocals, nice folk-y sound. Piano in things never ever hurts. I'm trying to learn again right now!
Alex - Good stuff. Real good. It's like Jack Johnson with a somewhat different feel, and I think less boring. I want to go for a drive and listen to it. I like your lyrics... That is always the hardest part for me, so I really appreciate people who do it well.
Left to tell - First off, good production. Very good. I dig the driven rock sound of the music, but I still feel the songs are more folky than in-your-face, which is neat. I bet they could all translate just fine in a chill or acoustic setting, which I think is lacking in some of the new pop that's out there. I'd actually like to get a hold of this EP you're talking about on your myspace. How can I?
Pocket of 3 - Reminds me of this band that plays nowadays back where I went to college. Funky, jammy, and probably awesome to jam to in a bar. Not to nitpick, but I really couldn't get into the vocals?
Keep sharing dudes, this thread is neat.

Thanks, Dave! I agree; I've always felt that a good test of a rock song is that it will still sound good stripped down acoustically.
As for the EP: We've just set up a link on the myspace to accept Paypal payments. Look under the "About" section for the buy now link. We appreciate the support!

Using the thread this time :)
I just finished a new tune called "As One" - just go to my website at www.davegrodzki.com (http://www.davegrodzki.com) to hear it. There's a player on the main page that should just play it.
This was my first crack at adding some other instrumentation to a track, so it was very much a learning process, but it was fun to play some piano again :) I'd really appreciate any feedback, as it's kind of a new process for me.
Thanks!

I like the sound you guys have, really fun. Drums sound nice, good work. Musically you guys seem to have it together, the only thing that didnt work completely, although it does help you make a unique sound. is the vocal styles. it works, but im not convinced enough by it to like it totally.

thanks Dave, you have no idea how much of a relief it is for me to have somebody say they like the lyrics. honestly, i know my voice isnt the best in the world. but my biggest "fear" i guess would be the lyrics. Really appreciate it. :thumbsup

great, actually. thanks for asking. i fattened my tone by switching to a beautiful electric guitar-tube amp rig (a vintage '72 epiphone casino through a 15W all-tube fender), and we plucked a few choice musicians (performance majors) from berklee college of music.
it's so much more fun to play with talented kids haha. so we've been steadily building a solid following in boston. it's been a lot of fun.
