they never sell out night 2, why would they add night 3? maybe if this album is good, commercially that is, we will get 3 nights

they might be able to sell out a fri sat wknd. sunday night shows are rough but they'd probly still get over 30,000 on a sunday night if they went 3 nights. but still wont happen

Three nights at alpine would be fabulous but the Sunday show is still my favorite. I get a better seat and it's not as crowded.:D

Correct me if I’m wrong, not sure if it’s still the rule, but it use to be that Alpine only allowed shows on Saturdays and Sundays, never on weekdays per city ordinance. So three nights would be out of the question even if the band wanted too.

Wouldn't that mean they should rule out a Sunday show...if they don't want to bother locals on "work" nights.
I would think a Fri-Sun stint would be possible...just open up more WH requests for the 3 nights...why wouldn't a friday night show be strong?

Though if this was true, which it probably isn't, If they actually did play 3 nights, they would get a lot more fans to travel to alpine because of it being a 3 night stand

They never sell out Night 2 because it's on a Sunday. A Friday night show would fair much better. Also three nights at Alpine would cause more people to travel for it. Many people who always say "one day I'll go to Alpine" would probably do so for a three nighter.
Just because Sunday doesn't sell out, doesn't mean it's not selling well. The entire pavillion sells out. Just not all of the lawn. Given that the place holds 40,000 it's still usually more packed then your average venue. If you ever go to Alpine on N2. The main difference is the top of the lawn doesn't fill up.

Also remember they seat almost 40,000. On Sunday if they are doing at least 30,000 that is real strong. Other venues are having problems selling 20,000-24,000 tickets.

i try to hit the spac and alpine every year, but that does not work usually. my wife hates dmb and now we have a kid, so money is tight. i try to hit atleast 2 shows a year. before i got married, i was prolly 20 shows a tour (i would usually hit everything within driving range plus alpine)
u doin vegas?
can't afford vegas. that would kill any hope of the summer tour.

I stayed at the super 8 last year--It's over the border in Woolstock, IL, about a 45 minute drive to the venue. Rates last year were about 55 bucks per night for a room with two queen-sized beds. Not a bad place--this year with cheap gas, it may actually be worth it.

I went to all 3, it was quite a weekend.

Well I suppose that I should put in my .02c here.
I wouldnt believe any rumors yet, its still early. Not sure I believe the hotel thing either, I have never heard of a "DMB rate", they (hotels) usually mark up the weekend when they figure it out.
As always I am excited for Alpine weekend. Ill have my website up and running again, as always, with helpful information and new pics and info etc.

not the oh-fish one, but i think it'd be kinda nice to have an actual alpine info thread. no offense to the peeps in the official thread, but we all know it's basically a chat thread. if you're looking for answers to questions, this thread could probably be more useful. once again, no offense. i just know that i, as well as many others, have tried to post questions in the official thread in past years that just get buried within minutes by all the regular chatter.

see that's why it'd be nice to go into a thread that wasn't so bogged down with useless babble to get info. there wouldn't be redundant questions if a person could find an answer on there own. wait, who am i kidding, i'm giving the average person way too much credit here. :lol whatever, it's not that big of a deal.

I did...it was alright..ran in to a little trouble after the show for being too loud but the sites are really private in some spots and huge...we had a little group site with about 10 tents..it was nice, but i dont think were gonna go back
