Was looking for some feedback. I've been working on it for a while and I've definitely come a long way, but was wondering where I'm truly at on it. As all of you are musicians, I figure you'd be the best to tell me.
Thanks a lot if you respond.

guitar playing seems to be good.when singing, work on "locking" your mouth into the vowel shapes. "A" "E" so forth and so on. Think of how your mouth forms when you yawn. It expands and opens your throat. Then, with that in mind, focus on having a full set of lungs when you go to hit your vocal line and sing from your stomach. I hope this helps. keep plugging away at it my friend.

hey i took a listen, you sound pretty decent, about where i am now too, which is encouraging to me.
did you record this live or did you do two tracks? i have found that its a lot easier to sing over your guitar track with a pair of headphones, its basically instant feedback and you can tell whether or note you are hitting the notes.
that said, you picked a hard song to sing and you can tell that you arent getting your chest into it, your range kind of fluctuates but it sounds like you have a good voice to begin with.
the guys tips above seem good, im goin to give them a try myself and post something once i get garage band

I recorded it all at once. I'd try to do it in two parts, but I have terrible recording equipment. I just have the standard sound recorder that comes on a computer. I use it more than anything just to listen to myself and see if my voice can fit with a song.
I've been playing for 7 years, but just started singing about a year and a half ago, so I'm definitely still working on it. I'm actually kind of confused as to what the tips above mean. I'm not exactly well versed in any kind of voice lesson. I appreciate the kind words though...
How long have you been playing/singing?
