Anyone interestd in tabbing out the new album on the first day with me? We'll split tracks ahead of time depending on how many people want to do it. And attatch our names to the big ole' album tab and send it off to ultimate guitar or wherever. Anyone interested?
I'll explain more later. Just bored in class.
1000 posts!!! Finally gettin some cred around here.

1,000 post? This is like baseball. 500 HR's used to mean something. Now everyone does it. :p
I'll help out with tabbing if I can. Not sure I'll be able to figure anythng out though.

I'm not sure if its only in my head, but it seems that once I learn a song, I lose interest in actually listening to the real thing much quicker. so I'll help tab it, but not the first day :lol

I know exactly what you mean. I don't get that way with DMB though... Usually, unless it's the stand up album, cause I was already disinterested to begin with, lol j/k.
Alright so we got about 4. I'll keep an eye on the thread if anyone else wants to join up.
We'll assign track numbers and answer questions once an album date is official. Didn't think anyone would be interested. Pretty sweet.

This should be fun...can I make a suggestion? I think we should do it in a program like Powertabs, or Tuxguitar...anyone agree?

Do they cost anything? How easy are they to use/convert to txt files to be loaded into a single document for uploading to UG.com?
I have a txt template that is fairly easy to use. I'll post it here (I think it worked). People could just fill in the template and then send it to my e-mail when finished. I'll put them in a single document and upload.
Anyone have an opinion?

They're free. Tuxguitar is more for Linux people, but has been converted to work on Windows. They're great tabbing programs, because they actually let you listen to what you've tabbed out. There used to be a HUGE database of full songs tabbed out (guitar/bass/keys/drums), but the RIAA shut them down. Anyways, the program is still available, and I think it is the most efficient way of tabbing/transribing music.
You have to know a little bit about rhythmic notation to actually transcribe complete songs; but the program is actually very intuitive. Also, you can easily import/export .txt files with Powertabs. :thumbsup
