Hey guys.......we just got a new soundboard this week and we were playing around with it and I recorded Ants Marching with Garage Band. We don't have any headphones and I got off a couple of times because my drums drowned out the music. Once I get some headphones I'm going to record a much better quality version and put it up here. But, this is just a rough copy I thought I'd share.

Here's the 2nd one I did while we were trying to get my drums sounding different. I think this one is better but you can't hear some of the cymbals as good.

-Nice rolls along the toms - you doing singles or doubles with those?
-(If you're going for Carter accuracy...) Too much 16th note stuff in the verse - sounded more Sunday Bloody Sunday than Ants. Pretty sure Carter holds it down with a 1 +a 2 +a 3 +a 4e+a and that groove keeps it rolling. I mean, there is an element of modification that he'll do, but rarely to the degree of straight 16ths.
-There are elements of hesitancy and/or lacking rhythmic clarity, and it seems to be relating to some of your hi-hat/ride work. There's a slight variation where some of your 8th notes weren't completely 8th notes. If 12 o'clock is perfect on time, some parts were either 11:58 or 12:02. Sit down with mr. metronome and it'll clear itself up.
-Hero points for attempting the Herta fill at the end but you lost rhythmic accuracy there - started as one thing and morphed to 16th notes. Or did you start the 16th note end fill too fast and morph it back? Either way, it wasn't completely there - your intent was lost.
Yeah, I left criticisms, but it wasn't a bad cover. You've got good ideas, you've just got to solidify your playing. Not bad, sir.

Thanks. Those tom rolls are singles. Yeah my timing is off bad in these. This was my first time ever recording to already prerecorded music and that with me not being able to hear over my drums very well led to bad timing. I appreciate the comments! Gives me more stuff to work on!
