Hey guys (girls? seems to be mostly guys in here)!

I recorded the guitar a week or so ago, but I was sick so I couldn't do the vocals until tonight. Anyway, the guitar isn't perfect, but I did it in one take and was happy enough with it that I decided to not try again haha. Or I was just being lazy.

If you could listen and tell me what I need to work on, that'd be great.

www.purevolume.com/lindsayharris (http://www.purevolume.com/lindsayharris) (it should be the last one on the list)

Thanks,
Lindsay

hey, i am not taking away from any female musicians whatsoever, this comment is based on what i have heard.

i never really heard a female that can play the guitar as solid as you can, i just havent. i think you did a great job and you are very tight with everything, great voice to.

Work on trying to be worse. It will make you more believable, lol. I'm a sucker for a lady and a guitar. Sounds great. Like mentioned above, one of the cleanest female guitar players I've heard. How about re-upping that Jolene cover. I'll probably download it. I know I'll like it already.

What was your recording set up?

Nice job on the covers. I especially enjoyed The Luckiest. You have a very beautiful, strong, and unique voice. I'm listening to some of the covers now and digging them.

this made me lol.

Thanks for listening! Is it normal that this took me at least 6 months to learn? Probably not...

I'm using a Firebox with Cubase LE and an audioteca cardioid condenser mic. I've had the stuff for a little over a year now, and I'm still learning how to use it. I think the quality gets better with each recording I make so that's good.

Thanks again,
Lindsay

Yeah, the quality of some is better than others. That's what I love about recording. You slowly learn your own techniques and each recording gets better than the last. You gonna post up that Jolene that someone mentioned on your page or what? Or maybe do another take and sound like Mindy Smith for me... is that creepy? lol. Keep up the good work and keep us updated.

Haha actually, I think that guy was talking about Ray Lamontagne's Jolene. But! I've done both his and Mindy Smith's and that was a long time ago before I got my recording stuff and my lovely Taylor. So I'll have to redo them. My roommate is about to go to class, so maybe I'll get out my stuff and do it right now.

Very nice to voice :thumbsup

One thing about the guitar playing since you asked. When you do the slide on the top E string(5th to 7th fret the way you're playing it), don't hold the string down after you arive at the 7th fret. Lift your finger up so that the sound doesn't continue, but mute it.

Sorry if I can't explain things in the correct technical terms. I know how to play a guitar, but can't talk it :lol

ohhh! I haven't listened to him in awhile. Forgot about that song. So good. Do both! What kind of Taylor do you have? I just bought a 314ce with my student loan money, hey that's what their for right?, lol. I've had the same strings on it since I bought it (early december) and she still sounds like a champ. I love it.

I've got a Taylor 110. I'm absolutely in love with it. If I recall correctly, I think I kept its original strings on it for a while also.

And to Lude99- thanks for the advice. When I played it for my brother he said something about the slides as well, so I'm glad someone else noticed. I'll work on it!

No problem :) Other than that, the guitar playing is nice and clean, and you have a nice voice.
