Is there a question in that? Suggestions for what? Are you wanting to learn to play? Do you just want to listen to good improvs? Are you looking for people in your area to jam with? Do you like the way the words roll off your tongue?

sadly this is almost a fail but...

ok if you can play... read chart, understand scale positioning, and the type of theory that deals with scale to chord relationships you can do it. Go for it, learn the So What? solo for ideas in that key, slow up some bop tunes.

Here is a major resource, not free

the jazz play alongs are great, the guys that jam are mostly likely full of shit and suck unless they have had some heavy cats take them under their wings

Just go out and make some noise. Maybe look at the ii V I book bc that's the cadence of jazz.

oh.. and practice with a metronome hitting the twos and fours and learn how to lay back on the beat (when needed, very common)

If you want, pick a Real/Fake Book song, and I'll record a play-along for you (drums+bass). I gotta get back into the jazz-bass-thing before school starts back up in Sep anyways

The real book could be a lot at first. Showing the whole show creates avoidance or the very rare anticipation.

This is what I use in my lessons now, that and a Charlie Parker omnibook.

Good stuff
