i had class this morning (i know, it's saturday, but for those of us who wasted our time when we should've been going to college, this is what we have to do) but i decided to skip it and hit the guitar store. i have a sweet guitar myself:

http://www.legacymusic.com/Guitars/Acoustic_Guitars/Alvarez-Yairi_Acoustic_/Yairi_Fusion_Series/DY88PW/dy88pw.html

and obviously i've heard of taylors, but i've never played one. so i picked up the 410CE, and it practically played itself. the feel of that guitar was like silk underwear. that will be my next guitar. now, that being just the 410, i can' image how the 700 or 800 series feels like. just thought i'd share...

I liked the 410ce, but I had the same thought as you did. So I picked up the 900...holy crap, that's a nice guitar. It puts my Takamine to shame (as any Taylor would). They know me at guitar center now, "yep there goes the guy who plays the taylors but never buys one." I feel like Wayne in Wayne's World, "It will be mine, oh yes, It will be mine." I really want the 714ce but I would settle for the 410ce. :D (I can't believe I just said I'd "settle" for a taylor, I shall now go beat myself).

i told my wife that i decided that the 410 is going to be the next guitar i buy in a year or so, and she said "why don't you just save a bit more and get the 800 or 900?" god bless her. although i didn't tell her that it would be upwards of $2500-3500. oh well. i haven't even found a guitar dealer in jacksonville, fl (where I live) that has a higher than the 400. i'll keep looking.

My brother said the same thing to me when I was in Guitar Center looking at buying a new guitar. I'm looking at the 414ce and he says to me, "Why don't you just wait a little longer and save up for the 714ce?" Well, I didn't end up getting a Tyalor at all, I just couldn't see myself spending that much money right now. But I will be saving up for that 714ce. :) For now I am content with my Takamine EG-334SC.

I don't know if you've tried Guitar Center yet. They are the only ones that I know of that carry the high end Taylors. Here's a link to their site so you could check out where the closest one is to you. There are three in Florida, one in Hallandale, Kendall and West Palm Beach. Hope this helps in your quest for a Taylor. Hope your wife doesn't hate me for helping you! :lol

Well the guitar is brand new, its the same thing you are going to get from the store, by the time you get done paying taxes and everything at the store you are going to spend a little over $1450, so for $1300 flat plus $25 S/H for a brand new 412ce. I took it to the place I bought it, they said if I was to trade it in, they would put it right back on the floor as a new 412ce, at full price.

As for the reason I am selling it, I need the money right now, and once I get my finances down I am buying a 700 or Walnut series.

I have a Taylor 414ce and in my opinion it is one of the nicest guitars I've ever played. I've felt other 414's but they just don't feel the same. I've played every type of Taylor except the 900's and presentation. I cant seem to find the 900's anywhere.

Hi all... I've played most of series of Taylor's (312 - 914's). No Presentations though... Anyway, when I was shopping for a beautiful new axe, I didn't even go with one I went with a Guild instead. I know those Taylor's are the shit, but this particular guitar blew me away! Here is the link for all of the info..

that's a goog looking gitfiddle...i love mine, but the next one i buy will be a full body acoustic. no cutaway, no thin body. i like guilds. one of the best feeling guitars i've ever played (i'm also anti-martin) was the alvarez ad60. for $500 i don't think there's a better guitar within a $300 range.

Thanks. I too am anti-Martin. I've played a bunch of them, and for some reason, they just don't do it for me. Except the Clapton sig. series. That is the only Martin that I think rocks ass. God, what a nice tone. No electronics, though. I guess if you're Clapton, you can have your cake and eat it too.

There's only one Martin I've ever liked and it was a $5000 dollar Koa that just sounded sweet. For the most part i'm Pro-Taylor and Anti-Martin but all guitars are constructed differently with different quality wood. So you can find cheaper guitars that sound sweet if you have the ear for it. My friend(Who also owns a Taylor 414ce and has been playing guitar for 10 years) swears that the best guitar he's ever played was a 300 series Taylor. So if you know what your looking for you can find a cheap guitar with a nice sound to it.
