View Full Version : 7/26/02 Tree...branch and leave signups *CLOSED*
This is one of the only non mp3 recordings going aroudn that i know of....here is the source info.....
Source: Dsbd---> Busted Stuff Bonus Lycos Webcast High Speed Feed----> Frick's
computer's
USB port----> Sony Minidisc MZ-R55
Conversion: Sony Minidisc MZ-R55---> Creative 5.1 Soundcard---> Cd Wave Editor
used to record
and track.
set:
Disc 1:
01: Intro
02: Don’t Drink the Water *
03: Grey Street *
04: You Never Know *
05: Captain *
06: One Sweet World *
Disc 2:
01: Disc 2 Intro
02: I Did It *
03: Proudest Monkey * -->
04: Satellite *
05: Kit Kat Jam * (with lyrics)
06: Lover Lay Down * -->
07: The Stone *
08: #41 *
Disc 3:
01: Everyday Intro
02: Everyday (#36) *
03: Dancing Nancies (tease) -->
04: Where Are You Going *
05: Dancing Nancies (tease) -->
06: Warehouse *
07: Two Step *
encore:
08: Crowd
09: Gravedigger +
10: What You Are *
* with Butch Taylor on keys
+ Dave solo
Taper Notes: First fifteen seconds of Everyday had to be added in. But you can't
really notice. There is a small spot of diginoise about 22 seconds into
Gravedigger
Crowd noise in encore has a fade in and fade out. Other than that tape sounds
really awesome.
oh yes and taper will be seeding branches

you took an already compressed webcast, compressed it even more onto minidisc, then sent it through a creative card, which adds artifacts and performs unnecessary resampling, and now you want to tree it? not to sound like an ass, but there are cleaner copies out there, both of this webcast and of audience sources

so, let me get this straight, you took an already compressed webcast, compressed it even more onto minidisc, then sent it through a creative card, which adds artifacts and performs unnecessary resampling, and now you want to tree it? not to sound like an ass, but there are cleaner copies out there, both of this webcast and of audience sources sorry....don't know much or actually anything about taping I am just helping the taper set up a tree....

Scott beat me to it......
why not seed this with another source...either the webcast which isn't compressed more and resampled or a nice aud tape.

Scott:
Source: DSBD/DAUD Matrix > Reliacast web feed
Conversion: Cool Edit 2000 > SHN (mkw audio compression tool)
I'm assuming that source is pretty clean? It was converted by a guy who goes by m-cascino.
BTW-I thought David Gray 9-24-00 was your best work. Till I heard DMB 7-16-02! :eek

you could probably seed the tree with the dpa tape, I would think it would be smoother and fuller. Wait on seeding and compare the tapes then tree the better one:)

wow... this is going to get ugly... this is like signing up to get slapped in the face....
for all of you that are yet to sign up let me give you some info...
#1) This is currently a tree for the webcast of 7-26, but its not even the best one because of tranfer mediums and amount of transfer
#2) There is already Audience pulls that are out which will be even better then this.. (yes it may seem hard to believe that an audience pull will be better then dsbd through a webcast but it truely is... especially if you listen to it on a stereo with a descent amount of volume... ) the highest rate for this transfer was only 64kbps... not the best...

Hey, I haven't heard it but I am sure the DPA tape is real nice you might try that for an audience source.
Theres also a schoeps mk4 tape thats going around that sounds real nice too.
Give those a listen and compare to the webcast before you seed:)
workin on getting Brown's recording of this show....if i can't get it by say friday we will seed with this one
Lights_1
07-29-2002, 04:44 AM
Hey bro drop me an email and I will get you one of the audience sources by Friday so you can tree that. I believe you live fairly close to me here in AZ so it should only take a day to send it to you in the mail. Plus no reason to tree a compressed webcast when I am sure there is a real nice DAUD recording.
Jamie wanna help me find one of those sources so we can help this kat out and so he doesn't tree a webcast?
