Hey, I'm looking to get a nice beginners acoustic guitar and I was wondering if you guys could help me out as I don't really know anything about buying one. My price range is around 200-300.

Yamaha's have some cheap nice models available...the C40 I think is only 100 bucks.

^Don't get a Takamine. Ever.

Alvarez is good guitar. Not sure it'd be what I'd recommend in the situation, but you wouldn't regret the decision.

There are a lot of cheap beginners acoustics. You can get a decent one for 100 bucks or so. One of the most important things is getting a guitar with a lower action or an adjustable action. The higher the action the higher the strings are off the neck, therefore it is harder to hold down the strings. When the strings are too hard to hold down it turns off a lot of beginners. When you go to your local guitar shop ask them for a cheap beginner guitar with a low action and they should be able to help you.

From my experience, high quality guitars start to trickle in at $300 and get better at $400 and up. I really don't think there is much of a difference between a $100 guitar and a $200 guitar. I'd say stick on either side of that spectrum and get one for $100 or go ahead and get a $400 or higher guitar. I got an $80 Rogue guitar from Musicians Friend free when I ordered some strings one time and it's been fine for me as an outdoor/travel guitar. Try checking one of those out.
