never... you'll have to wait until you physically get the tickets. It'll be sort of like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

That's how 10-Club is with Pearl Jam member seats.

You have no idea where your seats are until the day of the show. They also lottery off 1st, 5th, and 10th row seats in this 10-Club system that everyone is eligible for.

I have my fingers crossed for sick seats when I get to Buffalo next Monday!! :multi :multi

that sounds like a good system...the WH should take some pointers from this 10-club :thumbsup

i'm saying we will know seat locations on the day they ship.

I wanted to see if anyone had any pre-DAR plans yet. I know some people talked about going to Exchange Saloon (http://www.theexchangesaloon.com/) before the show for a drink or two.

I made a quick map on Google, this has to be one of the closest taverns to DAR.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

I have missed the Exchange from when our kickball team would celebrate our wins and losses with triumphant rounds of flip cup!

This is definitely not some fruufee kinda place so it's perfect place to warm up those vocal chords before the show!

Take it for what it is, but every time I have been to the Exchange, the service was HORRIBLE!!!
Last time I went down for a show at the DAR, I waited 65 min for my food and was only able to get 1 beer. And they werent even busy.

There are LOTS of other places between where most people will park and the venue... you may be better off going elsewhere.

Most of the times I've been there it's been fine - granted it was with a kickball team and we were obviously pumping a lot of money into their registers. I think if you don't go in expecting a meal and just want some drinks - it'll do the job!

If there was a show that monkey man would ever be teased or played at, it would be this one! Full band would be less likely because they all have to learn it. Dave probably remembers the chords, if nothing else.

I think we should either get a couple signs, or a small chant going (respectfully) to get Dave to at least address it. I know, i know, let them play what they want... but how freaking awesome would it be to have the bragging rights that we heard the first and probably last MONKEY MAN tease/live performance.

Stone was an INCREDIBLE opener in Vegas - - but I agree that Proudest Monkey would be pretty darn cool. But probably midway in the show as he will have a good story to tell before playing it. Maybe Cry Freedom for an opener?

most d&t shows as of recently are around 2 hours...give or take, so anywhere from 1:50-2:30...but 2 and a half is pushing it...i'd just expect around 2.

The information I got from the Jane Goodall Inst. regarding the VIP meet-n-greet tickets for the show stated the show was to be at least 3 hrs long in length... not sure if that is 100% factual, or just a way to get people to buy $2500 a piece charity tix, so take it for what it is.

Hello Kim,

The reception promises to be a rare chance to mingle with Dave Matthews, Tim Reynolds and Dr. Jane Goodall for 1 ˝ hours. It begins at 6:00 pm and goes until the concert starts at 7:30 pm. Just yesterday we saw the space at DAR Constitution Hall…reception attendees will enter through a private entry and will be able to enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks while chatting with Dr. Goodall, Dave and Tim. There will be some brief remarks during the reception from Dr. Goodall and probably Dave Matthews. Most likely we will have a singed book by Jane available for all reception attendees. There should be a photo opportunity also. Close to 7:30 pm attendees will be escorted to the concert and take their seats in the first seven rows. After brief remarks by Jane, Tim and Dave, the concert will begin and will last at least 3 hours.

Please let me know if you need any additional information. Thank you for your interest and I’ll look for you at the reception and concert on May 20th.

Coming from someone who wont benefit from this, I really think the warehouse people will be mid to back orchestra. meet and greet people will probably have front sections. But I would put money on you guys being on the floor - why else would the warehouse literally not tell you where you were sitting?

Enjoy the show :)

It's hard to define both cheap and close in DC. But have you looked across the water in Virginia (Arlington to be specific)? There are plenty of hotels available in Rosslyn and Courthouse (first two stops into VA and relatively "close" to get to Constitution Hall).

Hilton Garden Inn in Courthouse is like not even 2 blocks from the metro station and has a great bar (Ragtimes) next to it as well. Just looked and cheapest room for the night of the 20th is $219 (before the hit you with taxes of course)

http://www.hiltongardeninn.com/en/gi/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=DCAARGI

It's also a dirt cheap cab ride if you don't want to bother with metro.

Courthouse is actually where I live and I'll be using Metro to get there for the concert.

yea it does sound too good to be true...but it would be sweet if it was....i'd say seniority based from a 99 account will at least put you in the first 10 rows tho...depending on how/what they do the first 7 rows of VIPs that didn't sell....that could push it back further.

Does anyone know what the rules are for the venue as far as cameras go? I heard that P&S cameras were ok, but no video cameras are allowed. Never been to DAR so anyone got any info? Thanks

Last time I was there, they didnt care. It was for a comedy show though.

I think it depends on the performer & the promoter over all...

A few things -

I am willing to bet WH members who requested tickets will be sitting in the ORCH. Trust me on this. There are a few factors, also including that ticket brokers don't have the inventory of ORCH seats and never really had many.

Also, for those who have never been to DAR - it can be a real pain in the ass to get a drink. There are like 3 bars total, and lines get really long. Also, last show I saw there, they stopped serving drinks like 15 minutes into the concert starting. Who knows if they will this time or if they just cut off at a certain time, but its best not to rely on getting many drinks at the venue.

Can't wait!

Sec-C row N....Looking at Dar seating chart there is no row N!! What does that mean?

If you look closely at the attached seating chart, row N is actually the last row of the section. Those are actually really outstanding seats. I have attended numerous concerts at DAR and some of the best seats in the house are 2-3 sections from the stage, because at least for some shows, Sections A, B, U and V feel almost like you're on the side of, or almost behind the stage. But there honestly is not a bad seat in the house.

I meant Orchestra...there really aren't any side view type floor seats there though, as is often the case at big arena shows, etc....for those who haven't been to this venue, I can't stress enough how tiny it is. I had my high school graduation there for God's sakes (many moons ago...DMB was playing frat parties at the time). So glad everyone seems to have fared so well...see you all at the show!

I think the consensus is Exchange Saloon. I posted this awhile back (below). I believe our group is getting there sometime between 4-5.

Ants-

I wanted to see if anyone had any pre-DAR plans yet. I know some people talked about going to Exchange Saloon (http://www.theexchangesaloon.com/) before the show for a drink or two.

I made a quick map on Google, this has to be one of the closest taverns to DAR. gmap (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=113370844870545514941.000485d9ab427f34d76dd)

Nope, we paid the $1,250 per and a good part of it is the combination of my being a huge Dave and Tim fan and my husband being psyched (as I am too) to meet Jane Goodall. We are also contemplating a trip to Africa with the Jane Goodall Institue, in which case the contribution also goes towards that end.

That's fair. I'm a huge Dave and Tim fan but the reason they are even doing this show is to celebrate 50 years of Jane Goodall's pioneering research on chimpanees in Gombe, Tanzania. So let's all be happy that Dave and Tim admire Jane and her work.

ebay has so few tickets for this show but since yesterday after WH seating was found out, suddenly 3 pairs of orchestra seats have popped up, all of which listed for at least triple what they are worth.
