Lost in the mix of seat location postings, but do you all think we'll get 25-29 songs like D/T 03 Tour OR more like 19-23 like more recent Dave/Tim shows?

found this tier view from yelp.com. Appears to be section B.

And I'll admit it helped convince my husband on the VIP deal when he knew he'd meet Jane, whereas I'd have been content with meeting Dave and Tim. He's the science guy, I'm the musician, -- we are gonna have a blast!

I can't wait for the show and VIP event. I wish my wife could join me, but unfortunately she just left for Iraq. It would have been a great anniversary trip. I will be going solo, sitting in Row D, seat 114.

Hello all, I'm driving over from Seattle to see this show, I know, most of my friends said "what?" but I've never been to the East Coast and this seemed like a great time to do it. I'm not having very much luck with pet friendly hotels in the area (I'm bringing my chocolate lab with me). So I'm on here to see if anyone in the DC area wouldn't mind hosting a huge DMB fan for one night. I'm off the next day to pick up a friend in New York, so I wouldn't be around very long.

Would anyone be interested in this? Thanks,

Hello Brandon and welcome to the East Coast!

Have you looked at Arlington Court Suites in Courthouse in Arlington (this is just a few metro stops into Virginia and actually like 2 blocks from my apartment - very close the venue still). According to their site they take pets - however I'm not sure what limits they may have in place or what they may charge in addition. This is an older hotel that was redone in the last 4 years as an extended stay place. The rates are reasonable for how close you are to DC.

http://www.arlingtoncourthotel.com/index.php
http://www.arlingtoncourthotel.com/amenities.php

I wish I could offer to host you and your dog - however we live in a 1 bedroom apartment with a golden retriever so it's a bit cramped as it is. If you would like I would be happy to swing by and ask the front desk what exactly their pet policy is - but you may be able to call and ask them directly (703.524.4000).

This is again in a really nice area that has a nice urban feel to it and if you intend to metro or use a cab to get to the concert - it's relatively easy, quick and cheap. There are lots of restaurants, bars and other stores nearby!

no wonder the warehouse sent these tickets out so freaking late. After WH seats were released, they are ALL OVER stubhub and ebay. So many people are just scalping them... its a damn shame. The warehouse sees this kind of stuff, I would imagine any show like this in the future will be will call only now.

haha I know, his logic was pretty screwed up. He said it was 'easier'... uhh yeah, typing a few lines in a text field on Ants, hitting "Submit Post", and giving your Paypal address to the first person (out of 43000000) who PMs you is so hard :lol

Plus, I think Stubhub basically forces you to print out a FedEx label and use them to ship :ugh

Hello all. It is Dan here again with another AccuWeather Forecast. Things are looking a little better for our show on Thursday, May 20th. The forecast calls for scattered thunderstorms :BANG (30% chance) with a high of 80 and a low of 64. Hopefully this bad weather will occur earlier in the week and skip us right by.

PM & SMLAM are guarenteed. I think we all can agree on that. I'm thinking at least 3 other BW songs (LITHG, Funny the Way it is, and Time Bomb). Stone, Crush, Two Step, and #41 are the only other songs I'm pretty comfortable predicting. Steam/Kashmir and The Wayfarer are the two Tim songs I'm thinking. Otherwise...hopefully some classics!

A friend of mine can't go, owing to travel for work, so he is giving me his tickets; in turn, I have an extra pair of tickets to the show.

As my tickets are from the Warehouse, I will be selling them at face value, including the shipping I incurred and the ticketing fees. All told, this was $217.50 - $96.50/ ticket; $9 for convenience fees ($4.50/ticket); $1.75 for the handling fee; and shipping at $13.50.

And since $217.50 is a fatuous number, I will round down and ask $215 for the pair of tickets; below what Warehouse charged me.

The tickets are next to each other in Sec J.

I'm really anti-scalping in many arenas, particularly when it comes to DMB (and D&T in this instance.) That said, please do not PM me with offers above $215 to try and curry favor for the tickets; it's antithetical to the reason the show is even being put on. (I've had this happen before, and I'd rather nip that in the bud right now. And I've bought scalped WH tickets before - not knowing what they were - above face, and it made me upset. Just want to avoid this issue from the outset.) I want the people who take these tickets to actually go to the show, and not sell them on some scalping site.

As I want to give people a fair crack at these tickets and eliminate the potential for anyone to get them and resell them above face, I have the following conditions:

-Tickets must be picked up in person before the show, but paid for via PayPal ahead of time - which I will provide. I will not ship them. I will also provide my contact information, home address, you name it, to make you feel confident in the purchase. PayPal also affords you some recourse and protection as well, so it's good for both parties.

-In order to choose someone (since I imagine there will be more than one person who wants the tickets), and since I don't want to just pick the person who sees this first and responds the quickest, please tell me where your first DMB or D&T show was, and what song you liked the best that night (the PM need not be more than a few sentences). I'll pick the response I like the best. Subjective? Absolutely. But this makes it more fun for me, and keeps the integrity of the sale intact.

Please PM me with the above requests.

Thank you. And sorry for the long-winded post and requirements, but I really just wanted to set this up so that it's a fair transaction that rewards the fans and not scalpers.

Thank you. And sorry for the long-winded post and requirements, but I really just wanted to set this up so that it's a fair transaction that rewards the fans and not scalpers.

strange....:rolleyes

Why is my request strange?

I see nothing wrong with trying to make this at least semi-fun.

Just a strange way to sell tickets man, sorry for commenting on a post on a public message board. :freak

Just seems like if you had 2 extra WH tickets to sell at cost, you would sell them at cost and get it over with. But I guess that me, I don't have the free time to sort through who like what song and why.

it was senority, this is the way the WH filled the seats, there are 2 center sections at DAR, the WH started with the one center section and started to fill in the seats up to row 20, then they went back to row 1 of the 2nd center section and started filling in the seats accordingly up to row 20 again. then they did the side orch sections.
when doing this they just kept going according to people's senority. that's how someone with a 99 acct could pull better than someone with a late 98 acct.

hope that made sense ;)

I understand what you're saying - it will be more labor intensive, and seems out of the ordinary.

But I also don't like the idea of just giving them up to some random person. I think it's a cooler way to move my tickets than just selling them.

And as I drove home in my original post, I am pretty anti-scalping. So that plays into this "strange" request.

Hopefully others don't find it as strange and are interested in the tickets and sharing their DMB history with me and the post.

After all, that's what these boards are for - bringing DMB fans together to share in the inspiration and joy the band provides.

Looks like we're sitting close to each other. I'm rooting for The Stone and (thought I'm sure I'll get bashed for this) Cornbread. As for classics, a little IBYU never hurt anyone.

I don't think I want to hold the sign anymore...I'd rather focus on taking pictures and video if I can get away with it and don't want to be fumbling with a sign too. Also, it's just gonna piss off people behind me, and you do not want me getting into it with someone in the middle of the show. :lol

There are a few things going on. Several people will be going to a bar called the Exchange http://www.theexchangesaloon.com/, which is located at 1719 G Street NW. As a point of reference DAR is .4 of a mile away from the Exchange which is 4 blocks. The nearest metro station is an extra 4 blocks away from the Exchange. Got some primo info on the bar/food sitch from a friend who lives in DC...thought ide share this valuable info with u guys

"The Crown Plaza is on 14th and K. Most of the bars in this area are like lounges, think meatpacking district in NYC – bouncers, lines, velvet ropes. Lima (13th), K Street (12th), Park (13th) and Josephine (Vermont Ave) are all within 3 blocks on K. Tattoo is on K st, next to Lima (between 13th and 14th) and is pretty fun. It’s a 90s Rock-themed bar. Definitely a fun spot and way more “bar” then the other places around it.

You could head down to Gallery Place (around 7th between F and H) for a lot of bars. Iron Horse (skeetball, pool tables, shuffle board) on 7th between E and F, great time, cool vintage motorcycles decorate the place. Up further is Fado (Irish pub) and RFD (7th and H), both are good bars, lots of beers on tap, good crowds. Poste is on 7th and F (inside the Hotel Monaco). It’s the old post office and has a nice courtyard and a good bar dinner menu…. Zaytinya is nearby as well (9th and G), greek/lmediterranean, trendy spot, lots of local celebrity chefs hang there, but the food is great, tapa-style, good prices, awesome drinks (try the martini with lemoncello if you go)!

The other area I would suggest is “Midtown” which is south of Dupont Circle. As far as bars go, Sign of the Whale (18th and M), Rumors (19th and M) and Public (fun rooftop, inside is a HUGE sports bar, its on 18th and Connecticut), all fun and a mid to late 20s crowd. Lucky Bar, The Big Hunt and Madhatters are up another block (on Connecticut between N and Dupont Circle) or so but are also great. This area is pretty busy on the weekends at night. Places to eat in this area would be Madhatter (they have great wings, CT and N st) and also Sette Osteria which does all wood oven pizzas, it’s a little further up on Dupont (also on CT where R and 2oth intersect.) Everything in this neighborhood is pretty laid back.

Georgetown is also an option. Pretty much anything down M st – Mr. Smith’s piano bar (M and 31st), The Guards (M and 29th), Garrett’s (M and 30th), Third Edition (M and Wisconsin). If its nice out you can also hit the Waterfront (Tony and Joe’s or Nick’s – they’re right next to each other), which is below M on the Potomac so K between 30th and 31st."

Awesome. Thanks!

Just remember that if you go to any of these places before the show you will have to travel a little bit to get to the venue. Dupont and Georgetown are not within walking distance to DAR. The other places well, you can walk but its a bit of a hike.

Church Key in Logan Circle, Bar Dupont on the Circle there, and anywhere on U Street is fun (Local 16). I live about a mile from the venue. Usually try to avoid Gallery Place area at all costs. It's obnoxiously crowded, although a few fun spots over there.

Just a heads up... 6 days away from possibly one of the most exclusive and incredible nights any of us will have... And for those of you really following the thread... I wrote a very enlightening paper on fans of DMB and their loyalty... not only was given highest possible grade on the paper, but was also asked for a section to be put into a national magazine "College". Been a fan since I was 4, glad to see it finally got recognized as did so many of us... Once again, 6 days away....

2007 Wang Theatre about 3600

For those who get to see Jane Goodall. Wow, you're lucky. Was blessed with her presence at Live Earth and it was interesting to say the least. Just remember that she did live with apes for a LONG DAMN TIME.

A monkey sitting up in his monkey tree.

Maybe wearing a t-shirt that simply said "Proudest" on it.
