They played some great songs last night but the second half of the show was very weak. It doesn't get much worse than eh hee, can't stop and cornbread as far as runs go and the encore mediocre and predictible.

This pretty much sums up last night. Great opening run and then it all went downhill fast.

reading this thread is hilarious and awful at the same time. you guys can't be pleased. I was at the show last night and it was awesome. Who cares if he played can't stop - its much better than it used to be. If you don't like the music stop obsessing about it and having your night ruined by it. Its still good and a lot of people like it. You guys must be the ones who are still mad after your sports team wins, saying that they could have done a lot better. You guys must be so much fun to hang out with.

I agree that unrealistic expectations end up in big let downs, but I think many of us had pretty realistic expectations last night based on what the band has done at other N1's so far this year and they still fell far, far short. I actually think last night was easily the worst N1 the band has played this summer.

Also, while I generally think rarity index is a poor way to determine whether a setlist was good or bad, the fact that last night was ranked 13th in this regard on the Almanac shows what a lazy/predictable set this was in the context of this summer tour.

The one plus is that they got pretty much everything I didn't want to hear out of the way last night. I was actually happy when they played Corn Bread, because by that point there was nothing that was going to save the show. With songs left on the table like...

I agree with this thought, but let's not apply it to this show. You have to understand what people didn't like about it, and if you felt otherwise, then fine. The Jersey Run of Eh Hee/Can't Stop/Cornbread tacked on to a set with no tour debuts or different songs. This show looked similar to many they've played in the last week or so, plus the Bombtower encore that has become a mainstay for the band. Whether or not you agree with what people are saying, you have to be able to understand what they're saying.
