07-02-2010, 01:16 AM
Just got back. What a show. I was thrilled to get The Stone (one of my favs) and So Right (another fav) for the first time. Got super lucky to get #41 (fav song of all time) for the 2nd time in only 3 shows (both #41s at Camden N2). Also got to cross Pig (really surprised that was the opener), Stay (Wasting Time), and Warehouse off the list. Was really, really hoping for DDtW or Dreaming Tree, but I guess that's for another time.

As for the songs themselves:

#41 was great. Jeff's solo was fantastic; I enjoyed it much more than last year's.
Boyd tore it up on Dancing Nancies. It was great to see him get so into it; it was clear he was having a lot of fun.
Two Step was underwhelming compared to the other time I saw it at IZOD Center last April.

Viper21

That show was unreal. #41 right into Nancies right into Warehouse was just WOW. Pig and The Stone! Grey Street!

There was a lot more energy from the crowd tonight compared to last night.

After Two Step I wondered what they could come back with.

This is my fav show since Camden 2007 N2 when they opened with Two Step.

Dave's thing about the ship he could see was another "Oooookay Dave...."

TRthegame53
07-02-2010, 01:53 AM
What a tremendous show tonight. Crowd was hot, band was hotter. Pig set the tone from the start. Jeff absolutely destroyed the sax solo in The Stone; check the tapes just for that. #41-->Nancies-->Warehouse was 40 minutes of awesome. Agree totally w/ those who said the set had great flow. It seemed like they wanted to keep going on SDL; crowd cheers cut it off, then Two Step w/ a very cool end jam. Encore was fine; we managed to avoid the spoilers. Saw the baritone and was hoping So Right; the Some Devil tease was about a minute and it was most of the band; then a quick change of pace into So Right. It finally worked in our favor that the band teased a song and followed up w/ an even better song rather than the usual other way around. Stay was decent for the encore closer; no noticeable Halloween chants from up in 204. It's nice to see the boys play to their potential; hope it continues for everyone catching upcoming shows. Also, we walked out and caught the buses leaving; Dave first, then Boyd, Jeff/Rashawn, Stefan, and Carter (didn't notice Tim). Everyone was sitting up front (Dave and Stefan had their kids w/ them) and waving to all the fans on both sides; a very cool sendoff. Had a great time tonight.

There were definitely Hallowwen chants coming from my section of the lawn and I heard some Last Stop, as well.

Not so much. Carter was using a Hotrod styled implement, which is the same he uses on Say Goodbye. However, it was done on the drum to his side, which would never begin a Cornbread or Halloween solo. Plus the lighting was all wrong for either of those other tunes.

easily best show I have ever been to... out of 12 shows now. I was front and center, second "row" from the rail, directly in front of daves feet.

Got Timmys pick, Pig was played because of an "OINK" (with a pig drawing) sign, and the stone was teased last night due to a sign, so it got on the set tonight. The band was soooooo into it tonight, it was amazing. Dave and Boyd dueled way more intensely than I have ever seen... much more than central park.

Overall, it is the first show I have never thought (oh well...) when a song started. Every single song was awesome. So many surprises, such a great spread of songs, I could not ask for more. It beats SPAC N2 by a mile, in my opinion.

i just want to say that n1 "the stone" sign was mine that i was holding up from the pit, and everytime i held it up dave would point at it. we later saw him at the hotel and i drank with tim for a couple hours and asked him to play it. when i said it he got really interested it looked like. today we saw dave as he left the hotel and yelled to play the stone. So i wonder if that and the heavy tweeting of "@slessard" to play the stone this weekend help make it happen. O and i got the setlist tonight to go with the setlist i got from spac n2 this year so pretty beast.

Yo man, it's brendan, great time...great set...really awesome about the drumstick, and I'm glad we all left with something, got the setlist in my hands ha.

And when was the last time they had a 2 night run without any repeats?

That was a great mix of songs and should be a blueprint for the rest of the tour... 3-4 songs from BTCS, Crash, UTTAD, 2-3 from BW and some others sprinkled in.

I was there N1. Can't afford two in a row. Gotta keep a roof over my head :) Pig opener? Ugh, I woulda been so happy, I'd cry.

How was the tailgate? I counted 10 (mostly young girls - ladies, gotta drink your water when having a day in the heat w/alcohol!!) carted off for medical treatment. Also saw some guy w/his nose bashed in. More carnage than I've seen in the past.

After parking in Campbells for 6.30 (what a fvcking disaster), I decided to hit the opposite side. Wound up in what appeared to be a hangar of some sort. Didnt see any planes though :)

The tailgate on that side was 1000x better. Almost zero trash on the ground. People had bags for their empties! In fact, my seats were on that side too. The folks I saw were much more behaved. But I really think the key was to park on that side (away from the bridge) and have seats in 100 section. :thumbsup

:babe was awesome, and of course the Stone. warehouse, 41, nancies, two step, grey, so right, stay. even dug why i am :leroi and kit kat. I was in heaven!

Anyway, gotta pack--on my way to the jerseyshure

great time last night. i was with a bunch of great people about 8 rows back between fonz and dave. pit in general was way way overcrowded both nights. and as referenced several times, there were myriad drunken teenys; crazy shit. i saw a kid puking at 5 freakin o'clock.

anyway. great n2. n1 just bad energy where i was at in the pit. really obnoxious people about 10 rows back center.

All I have to say is this....WOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW! Last night's show knocked my head off! It was my 30th show with this year being my 10th anniversary seeing the band live...they never fail to amaze, captivate, and shock me! Last night just really reminded me why they are the best, baddest-ass band in the world!

I was in the pit last night 4/5 row dead center- fuckin sick

anyway, great show loved the entire set (would have liked a dif song then stay but can live with it)

i finally got a stick from carter due to my eagles #41 beauford jersey

my girl held up a sing saying "the stone" and stefan mouths to her "very soon (with a wink)" and goes right into it..pretty cool i thought

it was my 21st show and def in my top 3

we got lucky enough to pull pit seats for scranton too so see you guys if your going in a couple weeks

btw, I would like to send a big FUCK YOU to some tall 6' 5'' fucker who was standing infront of me the entire show. he was being extremely rude the entire show. Fuck you and your wife or gf with the cheetah shirt..he was trying to say how his ticket was better then mine so i cant go infront of him, so during the encore to be infront of you, make it to the railing and block your view gave me pure enjoyment

i just want to say that n1 "the stone" sign was mine that i was holding up from the pit, and everytime i held it up dave would point at it. we later saw him at the hotel and i drank with tim for a couple hours and asked him to play it. when i said it he got really interested it looked like. today we saw dave as he left the hotel and yelled to play the stone. So i wonder if that and the heavy tweeting of "@slessard" to play the stone this weekend help make it happen. O and i got the setlist tonight to go with the setlist i got from spac n2 this year so pretty beast.

I have to say, I know many of you reading this were the people around me, I know that because no one else on the planet could possibly be so obnoxious about their DMB knowledge, preferences, and setlist opinions. Nothing turns my stomach more, to literally HEAR the same idiotic and pretentious conversations that are carried out on this forum, live and in person, all around you.

You wanna prattle on about setlists? Do that HERE. Not while you're in the pit, before during and after the fucking show.

What gets me is that I know its YOU people, who sound like that. Not average fans. And seeing and hearing you all every year reminds me of exactly why you are all (for the most part) the absolute worst type of fan, anywhere.

We were in the same situation Wednesday night...no fun at all. Last night we parked in Philly and took the ferry over, that worked well.
What a great show last night. From open to close...the only thing I'd change would be loose FTWII and add busted stuff. I was sooo excited when they teased Some Devil, I thought for sure they would play it in its entirety. Hell, even the Stay closer worked for us to dip a few minutes early to beat the mad dash to the boat!

I was in pit both nights and although it was crowded, I enjoyed it alot .. minimal distractions for me ... n1 the kid behind me trying to explain to me that little red bird was a cover while he chanted last stop during LRB and n2 the douchenozzle that pissed in a bottle right in front of us and threw it on the ground without a lid. There were about 6 of us ready to kill him. Overall, a great time. My fan highlight has to go to the 40 year old woman trying to push her way to the front of the pit telling us that if we didn't let her go to the front, we would be kicked out of the venue because her family owns 1/2 of the Wachovia Center ... haha .. One of my favorite DMB shows I've seen. Crowd on the lawn was HORRENDOUS. The crowd both nights (I was in the pit night 1 and had great people around me (dead center pit all the way back)) did not even come close to venues like SPAC or MSG. Usually where there were screams, there was dead silence.

All in all, a great two night stand. Two great shows (well, one AMAZING show) and great performances.

Night one highlights: Digging a Ditch, Jimi Thing, Billies
Night two highlights (besides the whole show): Pig, The Stone, Stay or Leave, Nancies --> Warehouse, Two Step

It really is amazing though how many people didn't give a shit about the concert and/or had ZERO energy. The day I'm not dancing around at a DMB show is the day I quit going to them. To sum it up, Camden N2 is the show that SPAC N2 should have gotten. I don't think the crowd "deserved" it (from where I was).

I think i got lucky in all aspects last night. Its my 6th show (only started going last year, MSG opener), but what i got was one of the best setlist i've seen in quite some time, ALSO stood on the lawn about 1/4 the way up and had no problems or complainers around me. To be honest everyone was absolutly loving the atmosphere. I was surprised to see how many people joined me in singing pig, and the stone because i was anticipating 16 year olds with their face in the dirt. No one was knocking the setlist and most people we're getting down.

HOWEVER, i did F up one thing (some of you may have even noticed). Like the dumbass I am, i decided not to go to the bathroom before the show and held it in after i have had a few brews. So when i had to go and stay or leave came on i said " I like this song and ive never heard it live, ill wait for a song i dont love to go to the bathroom". Needless to say after the 41 >Nancies> Warehouse, crash into me string of songs, my bladder was about to explode. I then declared to my friend that we don't see many concerts like this and we gotta hold it in. After a beautiful two step i lead my friend and 2 girls we know towards the bathroom. I was leading and was under the impression that the front of the lawn at camden is like the one at hartford, with a walkway . So when i went to the front of the lawn and it was just 4 times the people per square foot and there was no walkway, i started to get looks as the kid moving up and bumping into everyone. Finally i found the middle stairs, got to the bathroom, did my business and got out just in time for rye whiskey. beggers cant be choosers.

Why I just told you all that, i dont know. That was just my perspective on the show, lawn, and personel experience.

dude you are so fucking right. this was honestly maybe the best show i have ever heard. if not easily in the top 3. While that may be true, I was staying with someone that was in the 200's N1 (when I was in the pit) and he said that the crowd was dead there too. I can see why people weren't really moving around in the pit: it was fuckin crowded in there. Shame on TM/Livenation/Susquehanna Bank Center :thumbsdow.

There were NO chants that I heard either night. Someone in the pit tried starting a LS chant the first night and someone shushed them. That is what I call weaksauce. The band should be flattered that we want to hear a song so badly, and if they don't like it, they can kiss our ass :D (sound familiar?). I actually complimented the guys that were chanting. I liked it. Too bad no one else was on the same page.

sounds like you had a blast last night even out on the lawn. i had a great time as well, even though the seats were shitty. i couldn't believe they were actually playing it. it gave me goosebumps. and Warehouse was awesome too! so happy to see that again.

Overall, great 2 night stand, I had tons of fun with good friends & enjoyed EVERY minute of it. Those that are still complaining about these shows & setlists & such , should seriously take a step back & stop seeing shows for a while.

Also I got a good look into the DMB fanbase at the lawn. When they played Pig, NO ONE cared around me, my friend and I were the only ones singing or caring. Then when FTWII started, everyone around me started singing and dancing. I was just like "What?!?!"

FUCKING THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT. same way for me and pig is one of my absolute FAVORITE jams. I was Rocking out SO hard that entire show. DID not however like how any little 15-16 year olds that were there that only appreciated Why i am and FTWII. Granted im 20, and ive been to 7 shows in 4 years, doesnt sound like a true true fan like the others (20 shows in 5 years or some shit lol), but i have close to 12 GB worth of Dave on my computer, and have been to both camden shows both times in the last year, and used to live in texas, went every year since freshman year. Unfortunately i am not full of money so cannot go everywhere to travel with them which i would love, but i am WAY more of a fan than anyone i know. But i killed me to see that show last night. Honestly, to open with PIG, play Stone, Satellite, 41->Nancies->Warehouse. Shit blew my head of 100%

I'm gonna assume you were center and near the bottom? Cause that's the only place where I saw people REMOTELY into it. But it's not like it really matters. Still one of the best shows I've ever seen.

dead center on the lawn in between the speakers for good sound. the crowd was into it, but i dont really care about all of that. i knew i was having a blast and appreciating what i was seeing and thats all that matters for me.

so i stayed at a friends place in philly the last few days, my dad met us down for last nights show (his 1st dmb show ever, was a bday present from me)...had awesome seats on the aisle in 100, got home at 230 am, had to wake up for work at 6 today---i teach Extended School Year at an alternative school, and had screaming 5-8 yr olds all day

aside from all that, last nights show is a VERY close 2nd for me to Starlake n2 last yr..it was incredible...2 nights, no repeats and only 2 BW songs last night. to ask for anything more would be greedy

I was absolutely buggin out the whole time as well. I literally jumped up and down like crazy about 5 times (probably for Pig, Stone, Warehouse, etc). By the end of the show, my friends and I had a nice 5 feet both in front and behind us. It was nice to have the room.

Where were you on the lawn? Cause there was one dude about 10 feet down from my friends and I that was have a GOOD GOOD TIME. Hey, at least some of us were enjoying it :multi:multi:multi:multi:multi:multi:multi

hahaha that coulda been me honestly i was rocking out the ENTIRE SHOW lol, i was literally about 30 feet in front of pole 3 on the lawn, but maybe 10 to the right of it if you were lookin at the stage so i had a PEARL view. i am just soooo glad that they opened with pig... i have only been to 7 shows, do they open with pig ever? i saw em back in 06 and they opened with Best of whats around, with pig later in the set, but this was the first time in a while that i heard that song...

Just got home from the show...couldnt have asked for more. After N1 i knew N2 would be stacked cause they played almost all the BW songs and played Billies Ants and watchtower so i figured we would get something awesome in the encore....but forgot about stay. The main set of N2 was the best i have ever seen, they opened with my favorite song, and played the two songs ive been wanting to hear, #41 and warehouse. Never seen either in 11 shows. #41>nancies>warehouse was perfect.

Highlights for me were, LITHOG, Hello Again, Stay Or Leave, Pig, Warehouse, Two Step.

Great two nights.

So i definitely think that it will (or so i hope) because if you look at the sets of all live recordings they have out on cd's, IMHO this show we witnessed last night, has a better set than 90% of them, as well as one of the best stones ive ever heard as well, a band full band stay or leave, one of the best two steps ive heard, and nancies into warehouse was fucking nuts. I sure hope they do... for they have no live trax or albums at tweeter, and by golly, there should be.

In the 200's N2, and had a blast jamming with an awesome 60-y.o lady, and a cool couple behind me. Most others around us were sitting, not into the show at all.. but didn't let it kill my buzz. When Stone started playing I was flipping out and yelling at people to get excited, but they just all thought I was nuts :lol

HEHE. exactly my experience. flew solo first and second show, and first annoyed the absolute shit out of me, because of the aimless walking around by half the people there, second show was not that much better, but i CONSIDERABLY saw wayyyyyy more people there for the music the second night and god DAMN did it bring me back to the reason i fucking LOVE this band.

i'm glad to hear that the consensus is that N2 crowd was much better than N1 crowd. lots of great peeps for n1 i'm sure. i jusy didn't see any. bartender, a personal favorite, was sick N1. i had to leave my spot in the pit (equivalent to climbing the materhorn in winter) cuz of the morons next to me incessantly chanting and thrashing.

dave's voice was spectacular virtually the entire time in camden. i think there might have been a few spots where he was a little rough, but that was probably something more like needing to clear his throat than hurting. Little Red Bird sounded amazing, as did Rye Whiskey, and that was after 2 full sets of wear.

Had a blast both nights! N1 I really liked it, and I know people are talking bad about it but here were the up sides. Daves voice was A+, squirm bef time bomb watch tower. I would take that show every night if I had to. N2 was kick ass awesome! No repeats!!!!! only complaint was the stay closer and imo it is what it is, they are going to play a few radio songs in a 2 night stop......I saw it coming the whole night.

Side note if the band was smart they would have played last stop to close the encore N2 and sold the shit out of some live trax cd's...... still might have a chance?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Great 2 Nights for my first trip in camden.

N1 highlights - cry freedom, 40 tease into little red bird, big eyed fish, and hello again.

the people around me in section 100 were great...had a really good time.

N2 highlights - entire show. the set and performance was amazing. like other people said only 2 big whiskey and a good spread of albums. amazing, amazing show. hopefully they stick with this kind of performance for the rest of the tour.

Stay or Leave is great (especially when the whole band kicks in, Jeffs sax playing is straight nasty). Definitely my favorite of the Some Devil tunes the band busts out.

Still trying to recuperate. Driving back and forth both nights with 5 hours of tailgating each night has taken its toll. We got to the lots early and parked in the Campbell field lots. This is the third year in a row I have had no problems there. A little rowdy, but everyone was having a good time around us. I upgraded N1 to 102 row L and sat next to Darren Daulton. Had a great time and enjoyed the set, even as predictable as it was. N2 we sat in 101 and it was an unbelievable ride that shot us right out of the gate and didn't slow down until it came to a stop after stay. The crowd was great around us each night. All in all a great two days of DMB, looking forward to Friday's show in Hershey.

I completely agree. I already liked the song, never heard it live/full band. Because of this i'm not sure if the band just played with a lot of energy for it or thats how they always play it. Hes gotta slow the pace down sometimes and he did it perfectly with stay or leave. I was also extremely impressed with the performance of so right, grey street, SDL and nancies

6th show and heard these for the first time:
The Stone, stay or leave, warehouse, crash, so right.

I put this in the "stupid thing 10' tour" thread, but i felt like i should put it here b/c it's so fucked up. great show last night guys. so happy i was there.

So last night I was relatively pissed off. I was having a blast at the show, the set was great, heard a lot of great songs, and I was riding solo inside the pavilion b/c i couldn't get seats with my buddy. No big deal, I've done it before. The whole show is great, then the encore starts and I'm jamming out to so right. Now, I'm in section 202 (the middle section) relatively close up, and i noticed something on the floor, something wet. I turn around, and the guy behind me is pissing. I turn around and say "what the fuck dude, why are you pissing here? You have seats, go to the fucking bathroom and stop pissing on my shoes". The guys next to me notice too and start getting into it with him. Security comes up, we tell him the situation, and the dude who was pissing and his buddy next to him point at me and go "no, it was this guy, look, the floors wet right there". Me and the guys next to me have our "what the fuck" faces on, and security proceeds to try to kick ME out while Stay is being played. By the time the song was over (and the show) security realized it was the douche behind me who pissed, but it ruined that last song for me. I hate people sometimes. I really do.

I tried something new for this venue (3rd show overall at Camden) and stayed on the deck in the corner of the lawn. We got their around 7:15, got a beer, and leant against the rails all night long. The sound was crisp and clear, there was beer 10 steps away and the only person to **** into me was this really cute 5 or 6 year old who was dancing and having a blast. What a great show and what a gret night!

I think I saw you N1. Did you leave 12 row center-ish about 4 songs in b/c of two totally drunk guys singing every song very loud? I finally did ask them very nicely to let me hear Dave-- and they did. Then there was the guy with the glasses who needed to high five about every 30 seconds. LOL.

I n2 the douchenozzle that pissed in a bottle right in front of us and threw it on the ground without a lid. There were about 6 of us ready to kill him.

This happened to me N1, too. Blessedly it spilled in front of him and never quite got to my shoes. It sorta epitomizes the crowd experience N1 in the pit.

Way back for N2, but a much better time. :)
