I think it is precisely because DMB is so talented that they can get away with making a simple pop song. All the great song writers write a campfire tune every now and then.

My other fav band Wilco wrote a pretty simple alt hit called "what light", if you heard it you'd know its a lot poppier than their normal fare, I've never heard of anyone thinking less of them for it.

I re-fell in love with Ants Marching today. I listened to UTTAD on the drive to work and home today, Ants came on, and I enjoyed the album version for the first time in ages. Just LOVE IT

I'm sorry, this set looks TERRIBLE on paper. And ya ya, we keep hearing from people who go to the shows that "Oh no, the show's are great" blah blah blah. Just got texts from my buddy who's at the show, and he's one of the BIGGEST DMB fans I've ever met, and all he's doing is complaining. "No Energy." "Boring." "Not the way to start of the touring season." "This is my friend's first show here with me, they're bored." "This is top 3 worst shows I've ever seen" (He's seen over 40 shows).

My friend never speaks bad about the band, and that's what I'm getting from him. This is bad, this is what we can all expect going forward this summer, this band is already in "year off mode".
