The only one who's mentioned it that I'm aware of is Stefan and all I've seen him say is that he tries to influence Dave, but in the end, it's Dave's call.
Stefan said fans would be shocked and surprised by some of the stuff they come up with this year. Going back to the old days of old songs. Stefan mentioned monkey man, machhead, minarets. Dave, in an older interview, mentioned get in line, deed is done. Always saying "Yeah, i need to revisit that, that'd be cool." Now Dave didn't promise those, but Stefan basically did promise surprising setlists. What is the antonym of surprising? The 2010 DMB tour.

Listen dude..........I've been going to shows since 1998...I remember a time when this band left its heart out on the stage every night, didn't give a shit about money, curfews, selling merchandise, etc.

Bottom line is that the sets are repetitive as hell, lack creativity, and that show was extremely low energy tonight. No way around it......"Big Eyed Fish just got played??? The "rehearsal room" was an excuse made up to why the band stopped sound checking before shows...look at the 2007-2009 tours....You will see a steady decline in the number of sound checks. This year they just said fuck it.

You guys never cease to amaze me. Fishtender, Billies, Cry Freedom, Digging a Ditch, LRB, Ants, Hello Again, LITHOG are enough to make this show a good show. Sure the end run could have been better, but I would be thrilled with this set. You need to stop expecting them to play an epic set every night. Go to a show fully expecting shows like this and just think to yourself "this could be the last time I see DMB" and enjoy this shit out of it. All good things must come to an end sometime

I agree in the predictable sets night after night but at this point Im over it. But I have to wonder if Jeff Coffin is thinking why the hell am i playing the same show every night still, can I go back to my other band. I would have to think he might be tired of this stale routine already

Like I said, nothing against the show itself. It's a good show, but the setlist on paper is lazy. I have no doubt 95% of the people there had a great time, but on paper this is a predictable show. Not watching the sets doesn't change the fact that this is predictable.

yes it does. If you hadn't seen any sets this tour, you would be flipping about about this show. Just like we all flipped out when we saw the hartford sets. They haven't been much different than that.

Truth, I did from the start of the tour up until Deer Creek. I was really surprised, it definitely pays off.

I actually have been thinking that same thing quite a bit....but then I remember he is making an absolute shitload of money and gets to have next year (and beyond?) to go back with BFFT anyways, so he might as well keep on truckin. I do think that he is probably very bored up there though.

Already said several times by now, but the You and Me thru Corn Bread run was brutal beyond words. Disgusting to see live, and pretty much ruined the show. Also, Little Red Bird stinks. On the bright side, N2 has to be great, right? Only clunker left is Gravedigger. We'll see I guess
