Depending on where they go in the winter, I might hit a few, but whatever they do, I'm going to the last show of the year whenever/wherever it is.

I kinda want to do Wrigley regardless, because it's pretty much a shoe-in for a live release.

Wrigley better be a livetrax. But I don't want a winter tour. End it at wrigley.

I also wish wrigley was in October. It'd give me more time with money and scheduling. And lord knows the Cubs wouldn't have a problem with scheduling.

Our official Camp Danny Barnes flag! Evidently I'm Betsy Ross. Can't wait to tailgate with this.... or perhaps use as a cape.

I don't agree with this. If they are going to end, it should be a nice 2 night run at MSG.

Price is fine, I'm just worried about having to drive after drinking. We all pitched in for the Hilton Garden so no one would have to drive drunk.

They card at Ballsfest?

Well, even if they X your hands, if Justin and I go, we can sneak you drinks. Or, if it's far away, and you don't wanna drink anyway, maybe we could pay your admission in exchange for a sober ride.

Question for those privy to ticket exchanges and the like. I've been confirmed for my WH tix for this year, section 107. Guess I won't get them in hand till much later this summer. However, with 2011 tour being out i'm considering doing something i've wanted to do for a while......spend some money and get about as good of seats as I can afford. In checking out Stubhub, etc. last night it seems there are plenty available in sections 101, 102 and 103 but the sellers never show seat assignments, just section and row. Now, is that common practice or is it all WH or other early ticket request folks (like myself) who just don't know the seat assignment yet?

Your thoughts on making this happen for me? Any way to contact sellers on those sort of boards to find out what the seat assignment is (for example, some claim to be "hard tickets-ready to ship") Again, i've got no experience with this; usually just get my WH tix and go to show. Any help appreciated, thanks!

hard tickets - real, actual tickets. not a printable e-ticket.

ready to ship - tickets are in hand, and ready for the mail (not wh).

no actual seat location besides section/row - more than likely wh tix or the seller just wants the actual numbers to be private until sell for some reason... but more than likely wh tix.

good luck!

^that would be cool, but I don't know about paying $30. Maybe we could meet at someones hotel then pile Ito the back of someones truck with beer/food etc and just split up the $30. Otherwise Baker St and its AC still might be the better bet.

Just read the article, thanks for that. I would LOVE to wake up early, head down to the woodlands from dallas, arrive at the tailgate lot and park my vehicle...leave my friends there with our gear so I could go and check into our hotel room and then party down the rest of the day. I'm glad they opened it at 10am rather than say, 2pm. That would've been too hectic!

Keeping fingers crossed this becomes a usual thing! I love tailgating!

Thanks guys. Also, in general, do you find tix (specifically good seats) tend to ramp up in cost closer to the show or do the asking prices go down? Again, never played the bargaining game before but looking to score good seats for this one after years of putting it off. I'd tend to think that the fact that DMB isn't touring in '11 that the market would swing toward the seller's favor but I guess they have to get rid of them somehow if it comes down to it.

Lee3691

10:00 am is pretty sweet. Smart doing it with the parrot heads, who average age is like 50, probably 10 to 15 years older than the average DMB crowd.

I don't mean to be a dick, but the vast majority of us don't buy scalped tickets, ever, so I'm not sure how much help we can be as far as advising on scalping price trends.

If the mall offers free non-towing parking and will allow tailgating, then I'm down for change.

Last few times I've been to the waterway in the past month, I've parked for free in the new garage across the street from bakers street. You gotta enter on the side by the Tinseltown.

Also, I've never had a problem parking at tinseltown's garage either. The new garage has direct access to the waterway/bakers street side without dodging traffic though.

Hello Texas Ants! (bear :hug)

I know this may come off obscure, yet I'm looking for 2-3 guys who I had brief, but memorable, encounters with at the San Antonio and Dallas shows in '05 and meet them again in '06 in Dallas. Then, I bumped into them in the VIP tent at the Toyota Park show in '07.

The reason I'm inquiring is I'm seriously thinking about attending the Texas shows this year and I would love to hang out with these guys and/or at least meet them during the tailgating!

Please PM or quote this post if you know of these guys. And don't I have their names. But, one always wore a straw cowboy hat...this may or may not help much since this is Texas I'm talking about :lol

So Justin and I kinda started a new tradition (new for us, I'm sure others have been doing it for years) at the Gorge last year. Prop bets. Jake did a contest on this site for the Spring tour last year.

Would y'all be interested in a group contest for the Texas shows? I'd throw in a prize, like a Live Trax of your choice, or something from the WH store ~$20. Or hell, maybe a poster if they don't suck this year.

I could do the contest as a google doc form so we could all fill them out from our computers and submit them before the shows.

Thoughts?

Memories frozen in time. Lost forever.

I took about 8 pictures total the whole trip. My camera cord has been lost in the great abyss so I can't post them until I find it or by a new one. Especially so I can put the Texas Ants pic up.

Can you PM me your facebook info? Losing that camera was devastating. We lost so many pics. The girls in our group took some, but we're trying to recoup whatever we can.

Justin and I at Fenway is a COMPLETE loss though. We got a ton of field level pictures (first row on first base side) of he and I. :lorraine

Here's a pic of the Texas Fire Dancer Flag flying at SPAC N2 from the balcony. We were sitting where I took the picture from in the lower reserved. We just walked up to the balcony, and Justin climbed out onto the catwalk to tie the flag up there. We had our tickets in these laminates around our necks, so I think the SPAC staff just assumed we were supposed to be doing whatever we ended up doing. :lol

It all depends on the venue and the size of the pit. For both nights at spac I didn't get to the pit until after the opener had finished their set and I was only 3-4 ppl back both nights.

There's no tailgating allowed at the Woodlands normally, as there's no venue specific parking (though apparently they allowed it at the mall for Jimmy Buffet this year... no word on whether or not it will continue for DMB).

We all get together at Baker St. Pub in The Woodlands. It's right by the venue, and they have good drink prices... and AC.

Yea. The only parking lots by The Pavilion are private business lots, and they don't allow people to hang out and drink in them. The mall let people tailgate for Jimmy Buffet, but I think it was like $20-$30 per car to get into the mall lot and tailgate and like I said, I'm not even sure if they're going to continue that for DMB.

Swing by Baker St. though. It's good times.

yeah, we normally get the back room area by the patio/stage at baker's street and just group up. the drink specials are pretty nice, there's cold A/C, and plenty of new people to chat up. in fact, i like it better than tailgating because everyone is kinda forced to sit next to each other and interact where as tailgating can get spread out over a parking lot and people get nervous about just approaching random people sitting around a parking lot if they're not specifically invited.

the only downside to baker's street is you can't really play parking lot games... maybe i can call up there and see if they'd allow us to set up some games on the sidewalk? i doubt it though.

I would've have posted this in DMBc but, for some reason I can't make a new thread.

It's been a crazy month for me. I don't know if many of you
know me on this board, but I've been around awhile. Last week we found out my wife has cancer. They caught it little late, but my wife's a helluva of a fighter. Always has been. Her and I share the same passion for music. We both love spending our summer's trying to catch a show or two.

We were supposed to go to two shows this tour. Woodlands and Dallas. She was so excited when we found out we had pit tickets for each show. My wife had never sat close before. The closest she got was maybe the 30th row. I've had some unexpected medical bills this past week and ended up having to sell them. I haven't told her yet, because it would break her heart. All she talks about is being well enough for these shows.

Now, I'm not the type of person who asks for help from others. I was brought up to earn everything you get. If there is anyway, any of you could help me get her to at least one of these shows. It would mean the world to her.

Thanks,
#34 + 2

I also posted this over at TDC.org. I'm known on that board as Dubs. A paypal account has been setup and I've recieved $90.00 in donations so far. If any ANTS would like to help, paypal email is JWisniewski@gmail.com. Send donations as gift. Thanks again and God Bless.

sweet!! a few tips: plan on getting there early (are you renting a car or taking a taxi/DART/etc.?) If you're taking a taxi, get a styrofoam cooler at a gas station with as much beer as you think you can drink given the amount of time you'll be in the parking lot before the show.

that way, when you decide to meander to the gate, you'll have just run out of beer and can either give your cooler away or tuck it under a car til' after the show, before a taxi comes to pick you up.

love that you can drink there before the show (saves me some money for sure!)

if you're renting a car, get to the lot early (most early partiers show up around 3 or 4pm) so you can park and get started! :thumbsup

Nice. I never knew about that hotel. Before my friend moved to Dallas and we started staying with him, we would always stay at the La Quinta on 75.
If plans with my buddy fall through, I'll have to check out prices on that Sheraton.

yea, if it doesn't work out, may be worth a look. I think it is pretty pricey but I don't know the exact rate that weekend. I know mine is about $50 after discount and taxes and everything.

Recently found out wife has breast cancer. Had to sell our pit tickets to Dallas and the Woodlands to pay for unexpected medical bills. TDC and Ants helped me raise money for a pair of Pit tickets. I found 1 for face still looking for a single. If anyone has a Dallas single pit for sale PM or email JWisniewski@gmail.com

Thanks,

You should do the woodlands too. If you had to pick just one, make the woodlands that one. The venue is great and it's one day sooner than Dallas.

i meant to say woodlands or both. i am from dallas, love the city, but agree the woodlands shows are pretty much always better for whatever reason. maybe its because im away from home?

doin woodlands friday then have my buddys wedding reception sat night so no dallas for me =(

I am considering making the trip down from Pittsburgh, PA to take in the shows in Houston & Dallas. I am very interested in tickets in the pavilion for either or both shows. I figure if I am going to blow $270 on airfare I might as well make this experience worth while. Please shoot me an email at: ncmst5@gmail.com

Hey Texans. The almost-wife (she will be my wife by the time Dallas rolls around) and I want to try to make this show. It will be her first DMB experience. We would do the Wichita show...but that's our wedding day. :) She's kinda short so I'm looking for reserved seats, center sections preferred but I know beggars can't be choosers. PM me if you can help or email me at: handsareme -at- gmail.com. It'd be great to surprise her with a wedding present.

In Dallas, what kind of view will Section 102 Row F get me? Don't know seat numbers.

You'll most likely be first row outside the pit which is nice. The view will depend on the seat numbers though. Ive sat on the outside aisle in that same sec/row and couldn't see Boyd or Butch. Inside aisle would be seriously prime though.

If you're paying face, grab them for sure. If they're scalped, the worth will depend on the price and seat numbers.

I think there were rumors that DMB would play Pizza Inn Stadium/Park/Field. After going to a soccer game there last night, hope you never have to go to a concert there. Besides the fact the views, even close, suck at soccer field concerts (I've seen a few at Home Depot in Los Angeles) I believe the stadium is closer to Oklahoma than Dallas.

I stayed in Arlington, and getting home, without traffic, was 50 min. Since we're both from Houston, that just makes the drive from reasonably to why the fuck did they put it here? Shitting location + shitty venue for a concert (awesome for soccer though) = me never going to a concert there.

I got a couple PM's about TX Firedancer shirts but no one has confirmed they want one/paid.

High quality t's (heavier than the merch booth shirts but not too heavy). Charcoal grey in color with my avatar on the chest. $20 shipped (priority) to your door. The first few I sent out here were a few bucks cheaper, but I covered the rest for shipping to those folks. I assure you, I'm not profiting at all, I'm probably paying about $50 for my own shirt once I sell the rest in fact. We just made them up because we like the design and to represent TX in a DMB way at out of state shows.

Here's what I have left:

1 XL
3 L
1 S

First come, first served, have them in time for Woodlands and Dallas!

I have a reservation for 4 guests to the Residence Inn on Market Street (https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/hould-residence-inn-houston-the-woodlands-market-street/) (half mile from the venue) for a 1 Bedroom 2 room Suite (https://www.marriott.com/reservation/viewRoomPool.mi?marshaCode=HOULD&roomPoolCode=ONBT&roomPoolDescription=1) (1 Queen, Sofabed), total is $113 after taxes and such. Right now it's currently $169 (before taxes) per night, and minimum 2 night stay.

My Mom ended up using her Hilton points and booked our 2 rooms for the Garden Inn next door, so I figured I would offer this up to whoever wanted it. :thumbsup

Gorge will not have ANY impact on the setlists, they will play what they want. As for Dave's voice, Gorge added a wrap to the stage, making it enclosed and reducing the wind on stage. So that should help Dave's voice a lot more.

I'm stoked. But I'm also worried it might be ruined.

It seems like more and more shows I see are ruined by young rookie drinkers who think the world is their movie and we're all just extras.

I'm adopting a zero tolerance policy on obnoxious chatters and stifler/lohan concert neighbors.

I don't foresee any issues in The Woodlands pit, since it's so small. It should be mostly WH members. Dallas pit on the other hand...

Evening Texas!:multi The Blossom pit was small and there still was a huge fight right behind me. The worst part about it was security had no way of getting there fast enough.

^ good point. But that doesn't keep dumbasses from spending a lot of money on stubhub.

And in my experience (from chatting them up before the show), the most obnoxious are those who either spent a shitload on tix so they feel entitled to act however they want or their "daddy" bought the tix for them, which pretty much means the same thing.

One good thing about a GA set up is you can walk away from douchslags.

Just be glad it isn't the lawn...at Tampa we saw a HS chick take her shorts off and piss smack-dab right in the grass.
