if you were playing a gig solo acoustic.. in addition to originals, what cover songs would you play?

That's why I don't do gigs. I wouldn't know how to choose. Maybe this thread will help me. Some DMB, some Counting Crows, some Pearl Jam... oh I don't know.

Guys, help us out!!

Peace, Terje.

I don't play originals cause I'm a chicken shit, but heres one I did for my friends:

Running to Stand Still (U2)
The Stone
Too Much
Captain
Long Road (Pearl Jam)
Two Step
Recently -> Water/Wine -> 40
In Hiding (Pearl Jam)
Everyday -> Long Black Veil
Streets of Philadelphia (Springsteen)
Gravedigger
Say Goodbye - > Walkaways (CC)
Off He Goes (Pearl Jam)

Grace is Gone
Watchtower

Went over alright. They don't know as many DMB and Pearl Jam songs as I do, so I had to make sure I played something they really liked every few songs so I kept their interest and sort of "earned" the right to play stuff I liked. Hence the strategically placed Too Much, Two Step, LBV and Say Goodbye.

I've been working on a 2 and 1/2 hour setlist for myself. I play songs solo on Acoustic Guitar and on the piano. I've separated my set into sections that are about 20 mins each.

Open- 4 songs on keyboard (1 cover)

- 5 songs on guitar (1 cover)

-4 songs on keyboard (1 cover)

- 5 songs on guitar (1 cover)

- 3 songs on piano ( 1 cover)

Last set- 4 songs on guitar (1 or 2 covers)

Covers I like to play on guitar are Blue Water and Big Eyed Fish (DMB), Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd), tangerine (Led Zepplin), Talk Show Host (Radiohead), and Angel From Montgomery.

On piano I cover Lucky and Karma Police (Radiohead), Watchtower, and Disarm (Smashing Pumpkins)

I'm assuming you mean the Seven Mary Three one, and not the Britney Spears one?

:)

Someone asked me that once in a similar discussion.
