haha were you about 10 or 12 rows back? You might have caught it from me... I held it up for a few seconds after the first guy then beach-ball-slapped it behind me, but I don't think the band saw it when I was holding it
Was so weird seeing that during a song like Pig though... would've been much better suited for, I dunno, Seven or Shake Me :lol
Yea that was me about 10 rows back, just off center stage.....had a great time..meeting some great people (including a brief encounter with an easy going lady with big boobs :hug who didnt say much :lol)...listening to some great music !!!!

Yes sir, I said hi to you at the end of the show...you'll be a sophomore at PSU this year, correct? I mentioned to you that this was worth missing Arts Fest for.
Yes yes i remember. I had a feeling it was you. It was a pleasure meeting you. hope you had an awesome time sir

Had a great time at the show. Energy sorta died after Nancies but they blew the roof off with Ants and that beautiful encore :thumbsup

I remember looking at the glass of orange juice on the amp behind Stefan towards the end of the main set, and thinking about how refreshing it would taste at that point.
And cringing at the "grown tired of water all the time" lyric in Two Step, because by that point I was near death :lol

As a tip for next time, try not wearing a sombrero to a show.
Signed,
The guy that was behind you
However, I didn't mind so much when it was on the shorter blonde chick though. Hope you guys had a great time! Seemed like the girls were for sure.
P.S. What happened to your stuffed monkey? :monkey
Hahaha sorry. I am a ridiculous person and I put everyone around me in jeopardy for the sake of fun. In retrospect, sorry- it kind of was a dick move. I would have taken it off and hope it didnt ruin the show for you.
The monkey, who has already been to 7 shows this summer (including Spac, Alpine, and D & T) is now touring with the band. Fonz picked it up and put it on his amp!

Looking for a photo of the inflatable nude doll which I held up during PIG. She just landed on me during the song (easiest pick up ever), and I wanted to share her with the rest of the crowd before she got tossed around in that GA herd. It seemed to go over well ...even with the band !!! A photo would be great.
This may be the best picture I took all night :D

The tape of the show is amazing, and looking around there weren't many stands to be found. I was worried. But the tape is really good and that tape should get a ton of credit for pulling it off. I listed to it today. I remember thinking how the band was just rocking the shit out of the set. I knew it was going to be a great show with the way they played YMDT. Pig was a great surprise. The show was great up to nancies. I was praying for Say Goodbye in the intro for Gravedigger. But it wasnt. After Eh Hee the show slowed down. I still love IBYU. The crowd loved FTWIS. LITHOG is starting to be one of my favories. After that Jimi and Ants was unreal. Really turned the concert around. The encore was great. WYA is one of my favorites. Two Step gets better and better every time I hear it. Really sucks that they arent touring next year. I havent seen them like this ever.

As I was walking across the Roberto Clemente Bridge, I dropped my poster tube that also had my ticket in it, and somewhere in the Allegheny is one of the 1300 posters... you all can thank me later for making all of your posters more rare!
haha, but seriously, does anybody have a ticket for saturday's show they don't want, or are willing to part with? I have tickets for every show I've been to framed, and it will be sad if #23 is gone!
thanks in advance

ah dude, that really sucks hard. Luckily I'm guessing there'll be more posters sold on the methane website, but either way that is a real bummer. Can't part with my tickets as I'll probably be framing them as well. They aren't WH tix though so they aren't very pretty or anything.

I'm another day removed from the show, and I still can't get over the energy in that place. I took "a few" pics of the show, feel free to take a look. I've never posted albums from facebook to the board, so if you can't see the pics let me know. I think the best of the bunch is the shot of Coffin with the Sax at a 90 degree angle........or maybe Dave with the shades on, it's too close to call. Can't wait for Wrigley!!

I did not say it was not an amazing show. There have been many other shows over the years that deserve LTs more. Blossom this year is one that many people are pushing for especially.
man big whiskey really rocked this show...the crowd loved all 5 of the songs and the energy was nuts. I thought that really helped the show. To me i care more about how they play the songs over what songs at least to a certain extent.
and to me this def deserves to be a live trax!

Just want to make an official FUCK YOU to ARIZONALOVESYOU.
Dude told me all week that he wanted the extra GA Floor tickets that we had. I had plenty of Ants ask about them after he emailed on here. I told everyone else they were sold. I left PLENTY of texts on the two numbers Ealon gave me. But no replies the day of show. I called and he said he still wanted them. Messaged him all day yesterday. Waited to get a reply til 6pm. So, instead of just enjoyin our preshow fun....I was stuck tryin to sell our tickets....which we ended up takin a $30 loss on. Thanks alot!
ARIZONALOVESYOU...I hope karma repays you in full.
Sort it out somewhere else. Apparently he has a side of the story that's somewhat believable, so don't start traipsing around the site with your "FUCK YOU"s and sort it out like mature adults.

Regarding this show as a Live Trax, no real way. Not until another Pittsburgh show, June 20, 2009 is released. Typical, Ants, Song that Jane Likes, Bartender, Crush, Dreaming Tree, Two Step, Pig and a Halloween to close. And the band was feeling it because it was their last show before heading overseas

07-13-2010, 06:57 AM
Yeah, while I wouldn't be upset if they released this show as a LT, I still would be a little disappointed that this show got the nod over the probably 100 other shows that are just as or more deserving. I want a LT release to be from a phenomenal concert and not just one that I attended.
IMO, PNC was pretty standard for this tour, maybe slightly above average, but there are 5 or 6 shows this year alone that I'd rather have released over this one.
JoshW
07-13-2010, 07:19 AM
Personally, I'd like a Blu-Ray of this show. I realize that's kind of a LT of and in itself, but I'd love to see it. Too bad Wrigley will probably eclipse that.
portis
07-13-2010, 07:20 AM
I'd say PNC was above average, but I'll agree that Pittsburgh N2 2009 deserves an LT before this one.

I thought it was an overall good show with a very up and down set. Had a very strong to the start of the show but then 2 big whiskey songs in a row with Lying In the hands of god and Funny The Way It is. and then Jimi thing which i think has turned into a sleeper song. But dave saved the show with an Epic encore. What You Are was incredible
joepsu0985
07-13-2010, 09:54 AM
This is not deserving of a LT release. N2 from last year at starlake was incredibly better than this show. This show was great, but not LT great. I mean a Bartender opener, Two Step set closer, Halloween show closer, not to mention a mid set Ants, Dreaming Tree, Song that Jane Likes mid set. That set can't even be mentioned in the same sentence as PNC's.

Listening back to the show it occured to me that the story Dave told about the king is one that I have heard at another show...kind of a bummer...love the stories...but how many shows do you have to go to before Dave starts repeating stories much like a friend tells you about one summer at band camp?

just got home last night, stayed in pit the weekend, amazing city. so sorry if any of this has been posted. i sat all the way up in 304 and going into the show was worried the sound wouldnt be too great, but once up there and zbb came on, i was surprised. really awesome sound and a really amazing view of the city. that was the first time i have ever seen so many people into the opening band. their second song though that he said was a new one, sounded so familiar (sounded a lot like iko iko).
the crowd in my section was kind of dead, lots of people sitting. overall great show though, and wanted to say thanks to dmb and the city and people of pittsburgh for a great time. some of the suggestions in this thread we checked out were great (church brewery, primantis, etc.).

We were in 128 row S and the view was good. Being in row S put us about even or a little above the stage. I didn't know what the GA situation would be so I just got seats and I was pleasantly surprised at how much we liked them.

Looking back on it, I am surprised that no one from Zac Brown Band guested during DMB's set. Those guys really rocked. Definitely the best opening act at a DMB show that I have ever seen. And, I mean, if Danny Barnes can guest night after night, why not at least one of these guys?
