Regardless, I'm pumped as fuck for this show. I'm finally getting pavillion at Pine Knob for the first time. I've never had pavillion. Even for concerts other than DMB.

I wish I could get pavilion but I know the people I'm going with won't want to fork over the extra money. I had lawn seats last year and nobody around me knew any of the songs - not even the hits! Two girls sitting next to us talked the entire time about their jobs. It kind of surprised me that people paid $40+ for a band they didn't even know. Regardless, I can't wait for 6/23!

As said above, the parking was a freakin nightmare last year. I didn't even try to leave until sometime way after midnight.

Definitely wish they were doing two nights this year but it's pretty predictable that DMB will always do a weeknight, one night stand in Clarkston.

If I remember correctly, the "pit" seats at Pine Knob are more permanent than at other venues (correct me if I am wrong- anyone).

Also, not sure how much, but Pine Knob has a large (percentage wise) of "season" ticket holders, but that may play into it as well.

Yeah, I don't think the pit can be removed at DTE. That is probably the reason as to why 4 venues won't be doing pit.

I forgot about the "season" ticket holders...but I'm not worried, I should get fine seats.

Well in that case, I wouldn't worry too much about missing Blossom. It has a great atmosphere (easily the best amphitheatre in Ohio), but nothing in the midwest beats Alpine. Plus you can always squeeze in Toronto or Chicago (I've read that a Wrigley Field show will be added at some point). And let's be honest, once September rolls around, and the post-summer DMB withdrawals begin, all of a sudden that drive to Minnesota isn't going to seem so long.

I did Pine Knob and Blossom last year. They were back to back nights, so it was a lot of fun. The only thing I suggest is do not under any circumstances sit lawn. Pay the extra $40 and sit pavilion.

We went to Alpine a few years ago, awesome place, but I'd love to check out someplace new too.

To avoid parking craziness, I suggest you head to the bar inside Pine Knob. We did that last year and it was tons of fun, they have music and the bar is open. I think it stays open for about an hour after the show, but by the time you leave the parking lot is empty. It's better then sitting in the car and we'll def do it again this year.

Still holding out hope for Say Goodbye. That is the ONE song that I really want to hear, maybe Spoon so I can complete BTCS. I mean I've heard Last Stop, #40 played or teased like 6 times, I've even heard Mother Father which has only been played 7 times TOTAL. Crap I heard Halloween before Say Goodbye and Spoon. I said after the Riverbend show I would have thought I'd hear Spoon before Halloween. Anything other than Say Goodbye is just fine by me for the most part. They don't play much of the crap songs anymore so I'm ok with most of what is played. Spaceman and Baby Blue would be nice to complete the Big Whiskey album for me.

Here is the parking lot map. You come in on North Drive. Park what is labeled on the map as North Lot. Don't let them force you into the South Lot. You'll get forced into heading out on Pine Knob rd. which is a small dirt road that they try to filter out too many people out of and the lot gets backed up. We were there last year and it took forever. In 08 though we were parked 7D or 8D and it was much smoother.

I'm not sure where premire parking is. I thought VIP was for season ticket holders, I could be wrong. If that's where it is at least you'd be closer to the exit from the venue and closer to the road so it won't be as long but from my experience the North Lot might be the best. there are 3 or 4 lanes going out North Drive to Sashabaw.

My friend got tickets to see rapper Drake in row AA which is basically right in the middle of the place. I know it only seats just over 2,000 people and then like 5,000 on the lawn, so I'm sure the view has got to be pretty good right?

I saw OAR there about 4-5 years ago. The sound is pretty good from what I remember. My seats were pretty close but I can't imagine there is a bad seat in the place.

Confirmed for all my requests except SPAC N2. Just went ahead and got lawn seats for that show. I had tickets up at 10:01, and it was lawn. Frustrating...

Well, I was sort of screwed, but I guess not really.

I got to the Ticketmaster outlet around 8:50 AM EST. No one was in line. (I was waiting outside the door, because it doesn't open until 10, but they let me in at like 945-950). My friend was a bit late because her 2 year old daughter was having a seizure :( and when she saw me, she's like why aren't you in line already?! So I ran and there were 2 guys in line and I was pissed because I knew I wouldn't get good seats. So I told one of the guys I was hear first, and to let me get my tickets lol and he was like no we can't do that..so I'm like whatever. Then to make it worse, I find out they are just SELLING the tickets online for Ebay...wtf? so whatever..another guy came in and he was cool, wearing a DMB shirt, and you could tell he was a fan. Anyways 10 AM rolls around and all that is left is lawn..and the guy in front is bitching and getting mad and my friend tried like 15-20 times to get seats finally she got him something in VV. She got me something and I was like well what did I get and she's like I can't say right now..so I'm thinking what?..finally the scalpers leave and she's like I got you RR. so i ended up getting 4 rows better than them :) but still pretty bummed it sold out so fast.

I was row C in 2008, row Z in 2009 and now RR in 2010 haha but at least i got seats

I sat stage right, in the front of section 34 back in 2008, very nice view. Venue is pretty good, very "woodsy" so it has a nice feel to it, surrounded by a state park. I may end up making the drive down there since it is a Friday night show...

DTE is a very underrated venue to see a show...it's so small, almost any seat is decent! yours will be good!

Even before clicking that link, I knew what it was :lol One of the coolest thing to happen at the JLA. They have been on a crazy run as of late. 7-0-1 in the last 8! Now it has become more or so "who are we playing" instead of "will we make it?" Hopefully Howard gets some break-away/shoot out confidence after last night.

I was listening to last years show today. What a great show it was. I know the encore could have been better...but I actually digged Time Bomb in the closing slot. It just felt like they had one more in 'em. Damn curfew.

Listening to Jimi Thing again made me remember how cool it was to see that performance live. Coffin was on fire.

You Never Know, One Sweet World, Lie in Our Graves, Shotgun->Squirm, Nancies, Warehouse, Burning down the house (had the crowd rockin), still water->Dont Drink.

I can only hope we get a show as good as last years. It will be tough to top.

I have to agree with Stacy. Center is good. You are towards the back but center. I sat in GG the first year they were back at the Knob in 06 and had a pretty good view then so you aren't much further behind that.

What I don't get is why Warehouse gives away sub-par seats to their members. It seems like they would try to get as many decent seats as they could. I've just always found that kind of funny. Also, it makes me mad because I'm a die hard fan and then there's this girl I know who gets like 10th row seats for DTE every year cuz her parents are mega-rich. And she was pissed at DMB last year for not playing American Baby or Crash at Pine Knob. Its like... WTF?!?!?

Yeah the officiating was terrbile. They call something like that elbow but "miss" the highstick on Lidstrom and the interference that wasn't called when Helm couldn't get to the point to cover Morris. Those two could have swung the game. At least the Lidstrom one. Would have been 5 on 3 for 1:20 and even if they didn't score then would have still had 2:40 PP time. Doan is a bitch btw.

Because Pine Knob is a pretty small venue, the sound is just fine on the lawn. I sat on the lawn for Buffett a couple summers ago and it was great! I love Pine Knob so I think you'll have a great time on the lawn :)

they're good! RTC means Right Center so you're not way off on the side by any means, and Row L is about 17th row. the seating goes AAA-EEE, then A-Z, then AA-ZZ. you're in good shape!

yeah but the Wings played liked shit. That's not on the NHL. Plus 3 straight PP's to start the game and the Coyotes were up 1-0 after it. If they lose I'll be pissed. If it was a hard fought series, like the Ducks series last year, and they lost I'd be more ok with it but games 3 and 6 they played awful and that's where they will lose this series.

i think wednesday i should be ok...i can prob be at the venue by 4 p.m. after work. thursday is another story though...i only work a half day but the question is, can i make it through?

Of course I am. Not worth it for me to drive to Ann Arbor for any time the day of and then drive back, passing my house, to get to Pine Knob. And the day after I aint stupid. Last year it took forever to get out and wasn't home until 1 or so. Plust I'll probably have Friday's off this summer so 5 day weekend!

yes last year the day after was terrrrrrible. i think i slept for like four hours and woke up still drunk. maybe i should take it off...

Hey guys.. I am sitting here writing a business plan for Strategic Management and I just listened to the entire Pine Knob show from last year! That show was epic... except the encore! Anyways, who has extra tickets anywhere? I got jobbed by Warehouse and got a 4 pack in row UU of Center PAvilion, and needless to say, my friends are not happy. So, any pairs, 4 packs, anything.. We have a DMB army going again!

To be honest with you, I was content with Time Bomb closing the show. I thought it rocked. Of course one more, such as watchtower, Ants, another classic would have been great, but I'm not going to complain too much about Time Bomb. It was You & Me starting the encore that killed it for me.

If we got an encore of So Much To Say->ASTB->Too Much Fake->Halloween or some other combination of Halloween, I truly believe Pine Knob should have and would have been labeled the best of the tour.

That encore was really depressing after a kick ass main set. It definitly could've been the best show of the tour last year if it didn't have such a shitty encore. I remember looking at the boards after I got home from the show and everybody thought it was the best show of the tour up until the encore.

I havent been on this board in while, but I wanted to chime in a say hi, see you guys next month. I'm excited about the show. Unfortunatly I was actually disapoined at last years show, there was just way too much new material for me. I actually really like the new album, but I would have loved to had more of a mix in the set list.
