I'll admit around the middle of the tour I wasn't excited seeing the one night sets for the shows... but after Alpine and WPB and Scranton, we could get just about anything for our show. The 2nd half of the tour will show us pretty close to the set we'll get. Can you imagine if we get Last Stop indoors? In this wonderful venue?

I had a LDR back in 03-04 and said I'd never do it again. So, of course, I did it again. Between 07 until earlier this year I was in one and, because of numerous factors (several out of our control), it became apparent that our living situation just wasn't going to change anytime soon. It was hard. I started checking out about a year ago- it just wasn't fun for me and difficult to try and maintain interest when we couldn't even see each other more than a handful of times a year. Everything else was wonderful, just the distance thing wasn't. I love her very much, but it's just tough to maintain a relationship that way. Some people can make it work; I realized I am not one of them. I need to have companionship, and that was impossible in our situation. The feelings are all there, but you can't act on any of them. After awhile it gets painful, difficult to want to keep living like that. You're in a loving relationship, but you're lonelier than ever. So I made the difficult decision to part ways. She agreed, but I know it was harder for her (even though she was going through much of what I was). It's still hard, but I think it was the right thing to do.

I guess the point of relaying that story is that don't be afraid to confront those types of issues, with yourself and with her. LDRs cannot be LDRs forever. There has to be an endpoint. Either that is you get to be together, or you don't. You probably have a good idea which of those directions your relationship is heading, and so you need to address it and, if you want to be together, there has to be a plan. That's the thing- there needs to be direction, and you have to continually be heading in it, otherwise it will always seem like limbo. Mine had a plan, and then it was derailed and we were never able to get back on track. After too long in limbo, I feel I made the right decision. It still stings, but I feel better when I wake up in the morning without that weight on me. Only you know which is the right direction for you, and I hope you can get through it.
