There are 2 types of bus service to the state fair. One is called Park & Ride, and there are about a 15 locations, mostly near the city center, none are too far away from the state fair. The one from U of M that I referred to is a Park & Ride. These are free.

The ones you and Ashley took from further out in the metro are Express Bus Services and cost $5.
