My Alpine plans are about final:

1. I put in for reserved pavillion N1 and Premium Reserved N2. We'll see what I get. If I get denied for either or...I'll still be in the pavilion :D
2. I booked a reservation at casa del Jim and Marissa. So...no camping for me this year.

I'm open to a car pool if the logistics can be arranged. Considering my lack of available vacation, I plan on driving (or riding) to Wisco Thursday night, coming home Sunday.

Yup, my friends and I have had a room booked at that AmericInn in Burlington for a while now. I agree that camping is awesome, but some of the chicks in our group just would rather hotel it and it's not worth the fuss arguing with them. Don't get me wrong I love camping, but it is really awesome being able to sleep in a bed after the shows (fuck i'm getting old) Plus we had a really bad experience camping in 09 at Big foot beach, we had just gotten back from the grocery store the Friday before the shows and set up camp and had a little fire and were just having a few beers and the Park Rangers snuck up on us and made us pour out ALL OF OUR BEER.... I'm talking one by one... we probably had 5+ cases... literally opened and dumped 120+ beers...

I died a little inside when that happened.

so yea, we had a great experience 2010 at this hotel, highly recommend it

Premier is 100% worth it in my opinion. For one you get to use the road that goes right from the front of the venue up that hill (to the far lots like you mentioned) after the show, instead of fighting 10,000 cars going out the regular exit.

But also it is definitely a little older of a crowd, as opposed to getting stuck between a bunch of 17 year olds, which being 27 is not my cup of tea anymore. Dont' get me wrong, it's still a huge shit show but it weeds out a lot of the newbs that can be incredibly annoying. And the venue is about 80 yards from the lot so you can tailgate and not relaly have to worry about time and getting back to your car is breeze.

Plus you can always walk out to the regular lots and just walk around if you want to get involved in that mayhem :lol

the only tip i can give about getting into those regular lots is to come from that way when you are driving to the venue... if you come from the other way (where that 4 way stop is) there's always a chance they'll usher you into the green lot, or whatever that shitty lot is called up that hill

Thanks for the tip! I think I'll go for it this year. I agree with you totally about not wanting to be around the newbies. We have a somewhat smaller more reserved group than in previous years anways, I mean we're all down to party but sounds like the premier is where the real fans are anyways.

The Alpine thing is not something I'll get over easily, that's without a doubt. But this time I'm choosing family over the band. The Alpine thing is not something I'll get over easily, that's without a doubt. But this time I'm choosing family over the band. I've justified this by noting that the last time I chose the band over family, I missed out on what would've been my last 4th of July up North at my Grandpa's house (with my grandpa). /sob story
