I have a friend who got front GA tickets, and his ticket has row and set numbers, am I missing something here? I thought the grass at Hershey was all going to be GA this year and no seats?

The venue just does that so they can keep track of how many tickets have been sold, apparently. It's all general admission.

You know it's gonna be epic this year. I'm planning on the same spot as last year, minus the police. And since this show is right after Alpine, I think it's gonna be a good one

Yea, but I don't think Kayla is going this year...somebody is gonna have to step up and organize it this year!

Hoping for a rockin' show.

Also, looks like I might be rolling out to PNC park the next night for the pittsburgh show now...who else is going? New female interests have caused a need to add another show to my list...

ya me and my 3 friends were thinking about making a sign. i think we may as well bring a GGT sign or 2. So that guarantees there will be 3 signs for it.

i think we are also gonna buy a bunch of those blow up beach balls and just unleash them in the Front Field, maybe the band will get the hint

When I get back to the states I'll start my summer tour planning. I'll head up the Hershey tailgate efforts (with some help from friends I'm sure). I'll put together a spreadsheet like Kayla (I think it was kayla, maybe Joel or Allison) did last year so everyone knows where we will be/what to bring. As usual, I will bring the good times.

As long as your 21 you should be fine to tailgate. Cops are real strict at hershey. A lot of people are usually out tailgating but it has rained 3 years in a row before the show

I too will be in the front GA, and if anyone crammed in near me even thinks to "blaze up", I will politely ask them not to, and if they continue to do so, I will hit it out of there hands and stomp on it:thumbsup Some of us want to remember the show...sorry that's a crime (and yes it is a crime to smoke weed so dnt make a smartass comment about how its perfectly fine).

Seriously...WTF? It's getting to be annoying. Although, it was great out after the rain. It really cooled it down.

Definitely be careful if you aren't 21. The cops will make rounds. I feel like they only come around once though, but you never know (totally used that phrasing on purpose) :D

dude, you're not going to get fucked up if someone close to you smokes up. i've been to shows where the 4 people directly in front of me all smoked. they just passed the joint down the row and then back up. did i smell it? yeah. did i have complete awareness of what was going on around me and what the band was doing the entire time? yeah.

of all the people i've seen smoke near me, they all had 1 joint, smoked it for 5 minutes, and were done for like an hour. its not like you're constantly going to be surrounded by this smoke. they can't hotbox an entire pavilion.

I don't, sorry! Keep checking here on the Ticket forum though, I'd have to think more than a few would pop up... basically EVERYONE who requested GA Front thru the WH got them, and there's bound to be people who can't make it anymore / have friends back out on them, etc.

Alright.... Yeah, Smoking Pot is illegal, thank you Captain Obvious. You need to understand you are going to a concert of a band that has absolutely no problem with people toking up at their shows.Dave brings it up all the time at shows about something "Smelling Good". DMB has had more problems at venues with drunks up in front crushing girls, stupid fucks trying to get on stage and underage drinking. Just because YOU don't condone it, doesn't me you have to be a complete fucking asshole to fellow DMB fans.

You had to comment and say your will more then glad to smack it out of someones hand and run and tell the cops. You couldn't just ask them to move away from your when they did it. Because I would, I cant speak for other people, but i know if someone asked me nicely to move when i smoked, i would accommodate them.

I've never been to a Dave show where no-one smoked around me. People next to me have always asked me if it was cool if they could spark up. Don't be a fucking prick to fellow DMB fans just because you're :

1) Afraid Of It
2) Don't Condone It
3) You Have Smoked and it Freaked You Out

Listen Dude, all I'm trying to say is no-one is going to be all up on your shit, blowing the smoke in your face. But I am telling you to shut the fuck up. If you are the kind of person that would smack a blunt and run and rat out a fellow ants member, you def. shouldn't be going to shows. Its your right to go to shows, but it is also everyone else's right to go to shows as well. Understand what goes on at DMB shows. The people who smoke are not trying to ruin it for you, so why would you ruin it for them. So, Please stop talking bullshit, shut the fuck up, stop being a baby and go enjoy yourself at Hershey, because I know I am.

I agree on the over reaction (and everything else you said). I'm sure it will be real crowded up front, but towards the middle and back of Front GA there will be room. They wouldn't sell enough tickets for the WHOLE area to be PACKED with people.

why do you even talk. shut up. Goto a Jonas Brothers concert if you can't handle the DMB crowd. I don't even think you are old enough to buy a beer at the show. Sooooo keep your mouth shut.

You do realize you started all this. All the guy was asking if it was pretty chill to blaze during the show, not for some lecture on how you are gonna knock it out a blunt out of anyone's hands and stomp on it and run and tell the cops.

i think DMBROX24 is currently the hall monitor at his school and is letting the power go to his head

Last year we hit the lots around 2 I think. Nathan is going to set something up once he gets back to the States (insert angry comment here about the shows he saw in Europe this Spring). Last year we met at the Wendy's just past the park so that we could get a big group of cars together.

If you're 21 it isn't a problem. The cops will still be douchebags though, there's no denying that. You just won't get in trouble :evil

As far as going to the park...I wouldn't suggest it if you wanna tailgate. You'll only be there for 4 hours or so. Yes, you get tickets for half-price, but that's still $40. And I've done the park then show thing before...it's exhausting.

Last year really wasn't bad. PM > Satellite, Seek Up, 3rd (or close) longest song of the tour with #41, the Stairway interpolation was amazing. It was an album tour, so a lot of BW songs were gonna be played. Deal with it.

That being said. Not an album tour, not touring in 2011. It should be a great show.

And Milton wouldnt be rolling in his grave- he would be rolling in his money, because its a business and on par with all of the other amusement parks across the US.

I've only booked Scranton this year, but now because of the hiatus I'm thinking about another show. Hershey is the only
one within 3 hours of Binghamton that doesn't fall on a Sun-Thurs. Grandstand seats are selling in section 4, halfway up where
the GA fields split.

Having never been there, are these seats worth 3 hour drive both ways and $150 bucks (gotta bring the Mrs.)?

I'd stay for the weekend and do the park, but I already dropped most of the summer budget on our annual trip to the Finger Lakes Wine Fest festival in July, two days after Scranton, no less. That should make for a good week off from work.

do Bethel Woods. its not quite as far as Hershey, its a better venue, plus its like a 2 night stand with Scranton. even if you just get lawn for Bethel, you'll love it. even the lawn feels crazy close to the stage, and it would be a much better seat than Hershey.

Ticket would be 33.95 for adult so 19 dollar discount.

It is half off (unless they've changed their policy the last year or two). You just have to have your ticket with you. I've done the park/concert thing before. It really drains you, but can still be fun.

NOON!!

thats about when my group of 4 usually goes

we'll be hanging around my trailblazer (http://memimage.cardomain.com/ride_images/2/3140/1121/20348060082_large.jpg)...hopefully in the grass somewhere with our canopy, fire and ice grill, coolers, beer pong table and ladder golf.

Sounds like the one last year. We were WAYY away from the stadium because we got there around 4pm, but it was still an awesome time. This year we need to bring all the antgates together

For those of you in the Harrisburg area, is your mom a nurse?? My wife and I had a baby last month at Harrisburg hospital. We had DMB playing in our room and one of our nurses was a big fan. So we were talking about the band for awhile and she says she's been going with her kids to at least every Hershey and Pittsburgh show for the past 12 years, if not more. Coolest nurse/mom ever. Just curious.

At Harrisburg Hospital? Nah, she was probably just high.

I dont know why people park in those lots, anyway. The big grass field across the street is much better and much more convenient when leaving. You half to walk a little farther but the traffic is minimal and the tailgating is much better.

No set plans yet, but there will be one. Last year I think we met up at the Wendy's just past the park around 1 (sound right Nathan?). When we went over to the lots they just started opening up spots next to the stadium. I think we should do the same thing again. We need to bring us all together in the grass lots!!!!!! No use being all spread out! Now I have a grill, coolers, a 6.5' table for BP/FC (i know, not regulation 8ft, but well make due) cornhole, and a tailgate radio that plays ipods. everyone can bring whatever they want to drink on and whatever they want cooked, we can keep the grill going to whole time, whenever someone wants something, they can just throw it on. lets do iiiiiiit

yeah, there used to be seats up in the front section, but this year its all just GA.

there'll be a barrier and a few cattle shoots for the workers to let the front GA people up, the rest have to stay in the middle to the back of the stadium

as for the warehouse front GA (never at hershey before that i know of), they'll probably just section off a small area up front for those people. i've seen it at starlake before in the lawn area, but it's kinda dumb IMO.

well there used to be about 5,000 reserve seats on the field in the past. i really don't see why there would be any fewer people than that. and the WH grants pretty much all requests for Hershey from my experience. there will likely be a lot of WHers (i.e. a few THOUSAND), but they might not all be there for when the gates open.

5k for the field. so that's about 2500 for front and 2500 for back. out of the 2500 in front field there's prob about 500-1000 WH tickets that get in an hour earlier...that's what im guessing, im just hoping someone actually knows

no, 5,000 old "reserve" seats, then the "lawn" in the back. Hershey holds 30,000+. the stands only hold about 17,000 of that. so its 5,000 in the front and about another 8,000 in the back, at least. they could easily fit 7,000 in the front section being that they don't need room for seats.

so figure about 2,500+ WH tickets in the front section, not a couple hundred.

Hey, I've already posted this in the ticketexchange forum, but does anybody have an extra front GA that they are looking to get rid of?

Hershey you fucking suck. this year will be the worst year at hershey ever. i've payed my way through warehouse memberships and this is how i'm repaid.

You're a jack-ass - you little quote at the end about how many shows you've been to - proves that point even more. The fact that you have put the general ants population down with the single comment, doesn't even make you a valid DMB fan. I am very glad you will not be at Hershey this year.
