I wonder who is more confused about this.. me or Boyd.

:lol oh Boyd

I had a friend come with me this summer to a show..his first DMB show, not really a big fan. About 7-8 songs in he leans over to me and said "the black guy with the violin doesn't do much huh?"

If Lawlor doesn't get a copy of the setlist before the show he must get so confused. No wonder he waits sometimes before putting songs up

Sup guys, just got on after watching Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus... Say Goodbye alone already makes this setlist legit in my opinion, no matter what's going on with all the Recently/Cornbread shenanigans.

Tour debuts at Camden N2- Pig/The Stone
BEF>SoL
PM>Seven
Stand Up/Cornbread/Recently
Blue Water>Nancies>Warehouse

This set is pretty good but I'm not as high on it as some seem to be. SD is a good album but I don't want it to be the most played album on any night. To be honest more than 1 song from it per night is too much IMO.

Definitely a good show, not great, 4 Stars IMO

The point is that the order of the songs in a set matters. It is about building momentum as someone mentioned earlier.

Tonight's set looks great on paper. One of the best of the tour. However, if one of the band's classic songs (i.e. Two Step, Rapunzel, Billies) closed the set, it would be a slightly better set. That's all. Shake Me Like a Monkey isn't a classic yet.

Table has Jimi & Ants; Crash has Two Step, Too Much, & #41; BTCS has DDTW, PNP>R, & Stay; BS has Grey St & Fishtender; apparently Squirm and Shake Me are the songs DMB want to use in big spots moving forward.

I disagree with what you think is going to move forward from BW. I feel like it would be more of Seven, Shake Me and LITHOG. Not to mention You and Me which has become a 'pop sensation'. They'll always play that every once in a while (or more) to please those people that end up at shows that are only sort of Dave fans. Sort of like a Crash type song, everyone knows Crash, everyone knows You and Me or will in the coming years. But yeah, don't forget Seven or LITHOG

also funny story, after BEF I was with my friend about 6 rows back in pit, and we were discussing what would be next, and i said for the hell of it "well, it did go into SDL i think the other night, but if it went into something like say goodbye.." then carter started. was an awesome moment. hadn't seen it in 4 years, so glad to hear that song again.

Wasn't at the show, but I love this one on paper. Great song spread, no stand up and just the right amount of Big Whiskey. I think this is a trend we are going to see develop with the BW songs. 3-4 a night. I'd be satisfied with any show that features Pig, Say Goodbye, Water/wine, recently (with a kickass reprise) and warehouse.

This is what a standard set should be looking like this year: sub out everyday and a few some devil songs for jtr, suad or kit kat, rotate 3-4 BW a night, pop in a few more TD's and a couple liberations and this tour could really shape up nicely. I honestly don't give a shit if last stop gets played this year, I'm not going to let one song make or break the tour for me. I'd definitely like to see blue water get fleshed out, and maybe see something like GGT return or a couple long shots like minarets or captain, but things have really been on the upswing after the stagnation that started with bonnaroo, lasted through the danny barnes run, and ended with the #40/Halloween encore in Columbus. We have been getting a steady amount of TD's, decrease in bw, and a greater variety in song spread since then. Check it out for yourself, but I really see a positive trend developing since the end of june.

No doubt about it. I fully agree. I think the band (and most importantly, Dave) is in the midsummer groove right now. The sets have definitely been shaken up a lot more after that run of EXTREMELY predictable shows. Camden and Alpine both had great debuts, Hershey (a one nighter) just had IMO the best "one night" show of the tour so far. I'm hoping the trend you speak of keeps up. I'm resting at my parents' house in Camp Hill, after a long day of work and driving down from Hartford for this show. I'm damn glad I went. Was in front GA, about five people deep in front of Boyd. I got some ridiculous videos, and had one girl yell at me because I decided to get some videos to share with you all (and my gf, who could not make tonight) instead of dance. I can't help it if I'm 30 and my back is 50, and I dance like uberwhiteman. ; )

Anyway, the videos are fantastic. I think I got all of the videos were Dave is hilarious (his intro of ZBB was hilarious, as was him discussing what he loves to do in his life), and I think I got some great videos. I got all of Pig and Say Goodbye, Recently>Cornbread up to the dance (great CB dance tonight); going back to Recently threw me off.

To touch on that entire smorgasboard of awesome, it was essentially two Recentlys and a CB. I love the subtle changes they've made to CB this year, so I was quite happy.

Eh Hee>Warehouse completely threw me off; I missed the beginning of Warehouse, but got the rest. There is one really cool part at the end of Warehouse, where Dave broke a string and had to juggle getting off the guitar and getting the new one. I did miss part of it for the video, as I looked up at the stage and away from the screen. But it was interesting.

I also got the SDL outro into Shake Me (for some stupid reason, I thought they MIGHT go into Halloween). I <3 Shake Me a ton, so I left happy.

The pictures that came out were really neat; I was in perfect line with Dave and one of the screens. So there's Dave singing in front of the screen that was back-right (from where I stood). A part of me was reminded of the FTWII video, where he was doing odd stuff in front of the green screen. I tried to get as many different shots as possible, and I think they came out pretty well.

They'll all be up tomorrow, when I get back to Hartford.

Last thought: Tonight was fucking awesome. So glad I came down.

Meh opener - great main set - meh encore.

What's with the coming on at 8:45?

Part of the agreement with Zac Brown Band is that they get an hour compared to the usual 45 minutes given to the openers. On top of that ZBB went over by 5 minutes, so that pushed everything back 20 minutes.

It was fucking awesome.

That's a good looking set...you can pretty much put anything with Say Bye, Pig, and Warehouse, and I'll be extremely happy :)

You know, for a second I thought they were gonna pull out a Halloween, too. Seemed set up nicely, SDL quiets down, the band had a little huddle, and you knew one last shorter, more punchy song was gonna close things out. I wouldn't be surprised is SMLAM wasn't on the setlist. Seemed like they decided to play it last-minute

Wow, they played the whole set as listed?

Seemed like they were moving rather quickly from one song to the next.

Just got back from the show. Very great setlist, no really major weak spots. BEF into Say Bye followed by Grey St was a sick run to start and Warehouse, Stay, Ants run was rediculous. Very high energy show. Will give more detailed review sometime tomorrow.

Everyday opener was meh, just not a get-you-pumped song
Pig got me going crazy, I think I jumped 10 feet in the air when the first note sounded
Recently/cornbread/reprise was awesome and unexpected
WH always great especially old intro
Stay> ants was a good high energy set closer

Some devil is always welcomed
SDL is great at the end
SMLAM I thought after SDL the show would end so this was a pleasant surprise

HIGHLIGHTS - Pig, Recently

Terrific show tonight. Just got home, and while I'm not feeling a full length review on this one, some bullet points...

- Everyday is perfectly fine as an opener now and then. It's an alright song and it gets the crowd going, and it worked well in that slot tonight. I just don't want to see it become a habit, as I appreciate diversity more than most.

- Corn Bread actually works when sandwiched between Recently "the song" and Recently "the jam." This was a very seamless, Phish-esque seque, and it was fantastic.

- Say Goodbye is still great.

- It's hard to complain about a SMLAM closer when just two other BWGK songs had been played to that point (and one of them was a definite highlight of the night). Other songs would have been better -- was hoping for PNP > Rapunzel, or an impromptu Halloween -- but the encore worked.

- The band is hitting its stride right now, just as it did in '09 between SPAC N2 and Starlake N2. Every show since Camden N2 has been very good (as well as the two shows prior to Camden N1). I'm considering hitting up Scranton on Tuesday, but it may depend on what they play at PNC and Bethel. That being said, I think PNC gets a pretty "fan friendly" set tomorrow night, with much more BWGK than tonight (especially considering that they skipped FTWII, WIA, Spaceman, Time Bomb, Squirm and Seven tonight).

I was actually thinking how funny it was that Phish covered it on July 4th in the middle of Harpua, and then ZBB covered it tonight, after Zac says something like, "Time to take the children to the cars. Better take the kids out back..." :lol

I also enjoyed Dave's story about how his favorite thing in the world is scaring the shit out of people, and fucking up the beginning of Some Devil when he said something like, "We'll see if I can recover from that."

I'm loving the credit Zac Brown Band is getting on these boards. I've been saying it from the beginning. SEE THEM when they open for DMB. I hate country music but they are great.

Oh yeah I met some ants at the show, had a great time jamming and talking dave between songs. We were right in line with fonz about 100 feet out. Two guys I can only remember the one name Nate SN: Crashintonate chatted it up with my and my gf and definitely made my show by having some appreciative fans around us.

Secondly, I noticed a taper about 10 feet in front of us but he left after the 1-2-3 part of ants with all his equipment. I couldn't figure out why and I hope someone else recorded this show because I couldn't see any mics around the field front section.

I said the exact same thing about Corn Bread. The segue between the two songs was perfect.

And it was also awesome to get a text about the Phillies comeback right after I checked the score and they were down 7-1. :lol

There was a taper at the soundboard who had his rig setup on the bike rack in front of the mix, dead center.
