I'm trying to transfer the audio from a couple of old 78's of my grandmother singing with a big band in the 1940's.

I've been using the program Audacity but I can't seem to get the noise reduction down to a level where the song is listenable.

I used a program from Creative that has noise reduction but the audio sounds life crap after I apply it.

Anybody out their with any experience in transferring very old records to computer or anyone who is really good at restoring audio? Any help would be great.

I've never done anything like that, but I've got a pretty good editing program (Adobe Audition). If you wanted to send the files my way I could experiment see what happens.
