Hey folks-
this is a general question about the tapers in 2002. Without question I find that these are the best recordings I have ever heard (save sbd but it is close). The question on the table is what is the difference this year? Is it new technology, better seats, better venues? I can't thank the tapers enough as they have out done themselves.
**hoping Scott Brown will reply** (a big fan of your work)

I was hoping to meet Scott this weekend and buy that man a beer or 5. Didn't happen. I didn't know who he was and no one could point me in his direction. Come to think of it I owe Willhoughby, Vernal, Jones etc....Least I can do.

I was definitly was chilling with the tapers at starlake all night long...
And i defintly want to buy the ones i talked to beers... but i still got another year yet to do that legally... but i did offer them some bucks to by their own beer :) . Great guys... talked to them about ever thing... i knew dmbtapers didn't list mr. brown so i wouldn't expect to meet him and offer up thanks but all the same... there were about a dozen or so rigs all very cool.. and one guy (im guessing it was Ice) was there both nights... (got there kinda late pussing it so I didn't want to bother him) but he had is poll stacked with mics at a nice height.... had american flag at the top of it...

Hey Joe-
you have no clue how close we came to meeting. Momo and I were supposed to hook up and things fell through (cell phone nightmare I guess.) Anyway, sorry we didn't meet even though you may not have known we were going to :D . Next time

Guess it is hard to buy you a beer when you aren't there huh? I'm sort of releived as I didn't want to miss that opportunity. Some day. Had a hell of a show though: got the upgrade :multi
Yep 2001 has some great recordings as well. However, I still think this year has been the best. Case in point your 7/16/02 is just silly good. IMHO the best I've heard from you (and I've got a pretty good amount of your shows)
anyway since you didn't list off anything specific things that are differnet this year I guess it is just my ears. Suits me fine as it keeps a smile on my face. Just keep doing what you are doing (please)
