This seemed like a good place to look for a bit of help, and some opinions. I'm looking to buy an acoustic guitar...my budget would be 300-500 I think, but would be willing to spend a bit more if it meant a great difference in quality. I'm not a beginner, but in no means a professional. I can jam along to songs with most chords, but not much more than that.......suggestions?

I've heard Ibanez might be a decent choice...? I also know that I'll be best to just go in and play a bunch, but any suggestions would be great!! Thanks team ants!

I played a Seagull before that was probably around that price range that had a great sound to it.

I had an Ibanez for a couple of years. It was okay. I still love it just because it was my first guitar. But my Taylor blows it out of the water.

I agree -- see how you like a Seagull S6. Build and materials quality on par with the big boys out there. You'd have to kill me before you could take mine away from me.

Takamine, Seagull, and Washburn are decent, low-cost options. However, save yourself another $300 and get a much better, used guitar at the $750-$800 mark. It's worth it in every way.

Unless your really spending a lot of cheddar in the thousand dollar ranges, I see no point in buying something new. When you spend in the thousands, having a lifetime warranty might be of value to you. Even then, I still buy used. You can get much more guitar for your money.

Takamine or Ibanez But Takamine first.

If its just an acoustic you want with no electronics, save another $200 and get a low level Martin or Taylor. That's where I started and then moved up to a high level.
