View Full Version : Berklee Online?

Anyone know anything about these certificates that you can get online through Berklee? I'm already probably going back to finish up my B.A. in Marketing and was wondering if getting a certificate from Berklee in something like Music Business would have any sort of value to it and give me a one up in trying to do something related to music as far as marketing or management. Berklee's a great school, but I'm not sure about this.

They look solid. They're pretty pricey, but they're probably justifiable.

What type of 'certificate' are you thinking about? Like someone said, it's a bit more pricey, but it's also Berklee. I would bet their online courses are of good quality. My school is actually suppose to have a plan with Berklee in the near future which would allow us to register and take courses over at Berklee. I don't know if that'll happen before I'm outta here though.

It's not bad. I'm finishing up the Music Theory one and it's taken me to the end of the last class to really get frustrated with theory again. It's not bad and they do a pretty good job of explaining things for the most part.

Best thing to do is ask an employer if you can get in contact with one.

I was looking at a few of the Music Management ones, such as Artist Management or Music Business. My line of thinking was that if I had a certificate from Berklee in addition to my B.A. in Marketing, it'd be more of an attention getter when sending my resume out and might make things easier in terms of getting into the business side of the music industry than it would be if I just had a Marketing degree.
