Okay here's the deal, I've been currently serving the community with 1 login capped at 12 kb/s due to my lovely cable connection. Now I would be willing to split this to 2 logins at 6 kb/s, but wanted some feedback before doing it.
Questions, comments, offhand remarks are welcome.

I'm getting 80kb/sec. The last shn I downloaded, I was getting about 100kb/sec. About 2 weeks a go, I was consistantly getting arounf 180kb/sec.

I've been wanting to start a public server but that's part of the reason I haven't, shitty upload speeds.
I would say leave it if you're going to remain a "fast" server. No one likes to get into a server with a ton of d/l bandwidth and see single digits coming their way. There is always the "slow" side...do people even use those?
Do you have a static IP from your ISP and do they specify that you're not supposed to run a "server" from your connection?
I've got a dynamic IP from MediaCOM and they say that you're not allowed to operate a server. I know there are ways around the dynamic IP and I doubt they actually keep tabs on your uploads...but who knows.
Keep up the good work.

Yeah there's a little thing with cable company saying I won't run a server, and they probably know I'm running on figuring over the last month I had about 25 GB uploaded out to people.
Oh well, I'm not trading copyrighted material and it's for a band that supports tape trading.
Oh and the dynamic IP address, technically Comcast is dynamic, but I've had the same IP now for about 8 months. The other way to get around that is to have a Static host name, which you can get for free.
So 1 vote for staying how I am.

Are you connected to my server now?

I would suggest sticking with the one login. There are plenty of people who use the "slow" logins, but not as many as the "fast" logins, so I would personally think that you would be better of serving hte public by having a fast login available.
Oh how I dream of my own T3...
