Hello everyone. I have been reading your comments about the speeds when downloading from the http server. This server is heavily used and will continue to be. Anytime I check there is at least 100+ connections to the box. This server is on a dedicated 20mb connection not a cable modem or dsl. The speed is first come first serve. Over the past couple days the server has seen double the connections it normally does. Please be patient and enjoy the 2002 tour.

I really appreciate all that you guys have done, but the past 2 or 3 days, almost all of the files i try to download time out, and I havent gotten a ton of the files I need to complete my show download.
Any ideas other than a rediculous amount of people downloading?

this server is run on a college network, i may be wrong but i'm sure the fact that school is back in session is the main reason for the slower speeds...
the fact that school is back in session works against the download speeds in more ways than you imagine...
the people at the college where the server is are putting stain on everything...and...the large amount of downloaders who are now at school are trying to download since they probably werent on any kind of high speed internet at home during the summer...
i'm sure there is nothing other than the fact that there are more downloaders that is causing the slow speeds....

I understand about the slow speeds, due to multiple user sessions,
but almost all my downloads time out, after they are about 90% finished, any ideas on what might be happening?

sounds like its a problem with your machine and large http downloads.

How much free space do you have on the Hard Drive where your temporary files are stored?

Yea it has been a while since I deleted files in my Temporary Internet files folder, but i have an 80 GB HD which is no where near full so thats why i figured it was something on the servers end.
But I will see if this makes a difference.
Mostly this has never happend before from downloads off of this server, thats why i am questioning it. It only seems to be happening lately (Septemeber downloads).
Damn college kids
hehehe

The latest one is I tried to get I only recieved 63.2MB out of 63.3MB and it timed out.

I have the same problem, sometimes, it seems this server is insanely busy probably due to the Gorge Shows. I find it helps to download at bizzare times of the day like 5 am, it doesnt happen to me at that time
