I'm kinda on a limited budget so this is the guitar I'm looking at. It's to replace a really POS Montana MT204N if anybody has heard of that.
I played the tak at a music store and fell in love with how it sounds and how easy it is to play. I know it's not the best, still kinda at the beginner level, but it's only $250, so I can afford it.
I know the old saying, if YOU like how it plays and sounds, then get it, but I wanna hear your opinions anyway. Do I get this one? Or should I save up more to get something a bit better.

how long you been playing? if you are pretty good and you've been playing for a while and you dont see yourself getting any better with the guitar you have (or the level guitar you have) then id save up for a better one, but if you still see yourself improving with your current instrument, then go for the takamine

You said it...
If it feels good to you, get it. Chances are it will grow on you even more. I just picked up a Taylor 414 to replace my Alvarez RD 20S. I was gung ho on selling the Alvarez, but now that there is a buyer who wants it, I can barely part with it.
You'll always want a better and more expensive guitar. If you have the patience you can always save another $100 and get a different guitar. But then you'll want another one...
It's an endless cycle.
As far as the Takamine, I don't have any personal experience with one. I can tell you haven't heard anything bad about them.
A piece of advice. On the recommendation of my instructor, I took my Alvarez to a local Luthier shop and had it set-up. Much better than the guitar store set up. I also had a bone saddle installed. It cost $60 total and was the best 60 I have spent. It felt like a totally different (and better) guitar.
Good luck with your purchase. I personally love guitar shopping and finding the "one" is the best high.
Cheers,
John

You're right. I always will want something better. And I guess if I want something better even before I get something new, I should just get something better than the EG240. What I'm looking at now is the EGC530C. I love the cutaway look, plus it's there if i ever want it. In addition, i'm sure it's just got a better build quality.
So now....anybody played an EG530C?
