i saw a statistic on espn that the last 3 times the wings made the conference finals, we've won and gone on to win the cup (97, 98, 02) so i guess thats on our side even though it doesnt really mean anything. haha.

Yeah they have made the conference finals 5 times since 95, this being the 6th. And only 1 of those 5 times did they not go to the stanley cup finals, and like you said they won it 3 of those 4 times. So for tonight GO WINGS!

As for the Pistons holy crap. They seem to be on a mission so prove to everyone that they can do just fine without Ben. Down 16 @ the half and come back to win is awesome.

Wings need to take advantage of this guy not playing tonight. This game is a must win NOW. Pronger plays 30+ minutes a game that going to be hard to make up, especially when he plays both PP and PK. I think I mentioned it in the Pine Knob thread, they have to do what SJ didn't against the Wings, and thats take advantage of Schneider going down. You've got them down. Now pin them. Don't let them back in the series. Also I want them up 3-1 cause I will be at game 5 and would love to see them win it.

I at least had something to root for when Tampa Bay won it, Bill Davidson. And with the Canes it was Doug Weight being a Michigan guy and wanting to see him get a cup. But the more I watch and see how its not a big deal to these people in the warmer places it bugs me. I'm sorry but the Cup is not just another NBA Championship or a Super Bowl title. Theres something special about it and I don't think many places understand that. Also can't stand the thought of Chris Pronger winning the Cup.

really with the talent on this team they should be in the cup finals every year. they always just pick the worst times to start playing dumb and not up to their capabilities. i know this year, at the start, no one was picking the wings, i remember barry melrose on espn saying the wings wouldn't be a contender and probably only be a 7 or 8 seed but yet again we were the #1 seed in the west, and although we made it out of the first round, it's still not good enough. oh well. go pistons!

Thinking they should be in the finals every year I think is pushing it. Anaheim is a pretty good team. Two of the best dmen in the game and a stud goalie. That takes you a long way in the playoffs. I think a lot of people think they should be in the finals every year. but its not the nba where the best teams usually get through. This is the first time since 01 where you had two top 4 seeds in the cup finalsI think they were playing better in this series than they have in a long time. The Schneider and Kronwall injuries caught up to them a little I think. It sucks they out played the ducks and lost but it was a fun ride. In a way they shouldn't have gotten past round 2. I'm just glad we can be sad about a 3rd loss rather than round 1 or 2.

I have to say the NBA is full of the biggest premadonnas in the world. It seems like every time someone goes up for a shot they try to make contact hoping to get the foul call. Just go up strong for the shot and if the foul is called then great if it not then at least you still tried to make the basket. I saw LeBron do that a few times and then Chauncey did it when he tried to win the game. He leans into the guy to try to get a call and because of that takes an off-balanced shot. Smart thinking there. Just be a man and take the shot. I never remember seeing Jordon do that, or Isaiah, or Bird or Magic. Its embarassing, to me, how bad that it has become in the NBA. As for the Pistons thats a whole different level of embarassing. Way to blow a 2-0 lead. Chauncey has not been the player he used to be and if he thought he was getting the big bucks his price has dropped. Right now it looks like the NBA will get what they want and that LeBron in the Finals.

Yesterday morning my girlfriend and I decided to get tickets to the Tiger's game. We really lucked out to say the least. I realized throughout the entire game what was happening but the ballpark exploded in the 8th inning and erupted in the 9th. My first and and probably only no-hitter and I'll never forget it. I dunno, it might have been...I hadn't seen them in awhile and haven't heard a newer bootleg in even longer. I enjoyed myself, but my perspective of DMB concerts has changed dramatically after I turned 21...but I shall digress.

However, I was listening to the 2-14-99 Dave and Tim boot I have, it's the first Bootleg I ever got, probably summer of 99, I didn't know any better at the time and bought it off e-bay. '99 Dave and Tim is the best Dave and Tim tour ever, with 96 a close second, but 03 and 07 shows blow in comparison to '99, especially '07 shows. I'm also willing to declare 2000 the best DMB tour ever. But I also like 2002 and early stuff. Discuss...
