probably because it's not big enough for a one night stand...only holds 15,000 it's never really struck me as a good facility anyways. that palace and dte are owned by the same company, so it's not like the management of dte pissed the band off. i'm not complaining with all of the shows in our area though, not one bit!!!:D

it's not all that small, capacity is ~21,000. It was ranked #1 in attendance recently I think, or maybe it was for most shows. Either way, it's a great place to see a show and DMB show definitely play there again. I saw them there in 97 and it was a great show.

The big things the NCAA selection committee looks at is strength of schedule and qulaity wins over top 25 teams.

Michigan has one victory over a top 25 team and that was Purdue who was ranked 23. My repsonse was against the statement that if any team deserves to be in the tourney it's Michigan....there are alot more teams that deserve to be in the NCAA tournament then Michigan.

Considering Michigan can't even play in the tournament I don't even know why I am putting Michigan and NCAA tournament in the same sentence.

State should get a bid and will get a bid if it beats OSU and does decent in the Big 10 Tourney.

so someone during one of the games I watching (vague, I know) said that the NCAA usually always takes 6-7 Big Ten teams. right now it would be Wisconisin, Illinois, Purdue, MSU, Minn. and Indiana, barring no crazy team wins the BT tourny.

I think even if they took 5, NSU will be in, even after it loses at OSU this weekend. :)

depends on how strong you are at SS I suppose...if romero and vasquez are better than two other guys on your team, then you win big in that case. Cabrera might have a breakout year if he stays healthy.

My team doesn't look too bad right now. I hated to give up A-Rod, but I still have Jeter and I got Helton and Oswalt in return. I just picked up Hampton too. He wasn't drafted in either of my leagues. I have a lot of good players but not a lot with good longevity, and most of the ones that do come with a pretty high risk (Juan Gonzalez, Larry Walker, Olerud, Hampton).

I have a lot of good players but not a lot with good longevity, and most of the ones that do come with a pretty high risk (Juan Gonzalez, Larry Walker, Olerud, Hampton).

I love A-Rod....yes he is overpaid but his numbers don't lie. I was quick to give up Helton because I can move Bagwell over to first.

I've never played a head to head fantasy baseball league before...I always just played by points......it will def. be a learning experience for me.

cavecricket34
03-06-2003, 06:38 PM
Some people are pansies when it comes to trading players. In my other league I offered Pedro for A-Rod because this guy really needed pitching and already Tejada at SS, and because I needed power and had an overstock of steller pitching, but he rejected it anyway.

cavecricket34
03-06-2003, 06:44 PM
And head to head leagues are so much better than point leagues. With points, it's hard to dig your way out of the celler, but with head to head there's always a decent chance of going 8-2 or 9-1 in any given week to work your way back up. Plus we can have individual bragging rights - it looks like Bob and I have the only all-comerica matchup in week one :)

We have a private Yahoo league, but it's filled up already. There's six of us from comerica and six others from ants. You can start your own or join one, just go to the Fantasy Sports section on Yahoo and go from there :)

Every week you go up against a different opponent. Stats are still counted daily, so you'd still want to update your lineup and pitching rotation as much as possible. There's 10 stat categories, and at the end of the week you get one win for every category that you beat your opponent, and one loss for every category you lose. If you tie a category, you'll each get a tie.

So if you win in 6 categories, lose in 2, and tie 2, you're record for that week is 6-2-2. Then the next week you get a new opponent and the weekly stats are reset. Your season W-L-T record is just totaled up from each week.

Homemade meals are FAR better than any resaurant.

My dad made a pork/beef roast, mashed potatoes, and gren bean casserole.

Holy crap was it tasty.

There are some good restaurants out there, but very few unfortunely. Lulu's is one of them. I used to work for the chef/owner at his previous restaurant (Spencer Creek) for three years. That was even better, but we had to close up when the landlord screwed us over on the lease a few years ago.

Good thing I made myself a sandwich before I left for school.

Yeah, I think I should start heading back to school now:lol Or I can just get up early tomorrow... If I leave now, I can get back in time for Six Feet Under, but I'll miss American Dreams..

Decisions decisions:lol

big ten tournament is wide open this year. i think that anyone could win it. I'm fairly sure that OSU, PSU, NU, and Iowa have no chance. The teams that do have a chance are: Illinois, Michigan State, and Wisconson.

I hate my new contacts. It feels like someone took knives and shoved them into my eyeballs and twisted it around in there.

Is it still murder if you kill one of your roommates? I came home today and my $500 stereo was sitting on the livingroom floor....I'm not kidding, I want to beat the living piss out of him.
