how about that Lions draft?? they essentially gave up a fourth and fifth rounder for Kevin Jones. Genius. Millen shouldn't be a GM, but he should stick around for his drafting work. Excellent last year and again this year! Harrington to Rogers OR Williams

The more I think about it, I think that Winslow would have been a better pick. Roy Williams compared himself to T Owens. Let's hope that the comparison stops at his playing abilities. I don't want to hear Rogers and Williams complaining about not getting the ball enough. I am a little perplexed as to why they took another reciever. Jackson would have fit in nicely. On that note, what were the Cowboys thinking?

I can't stand how the Wings have become the Yankees of hockey...buying all this big name talent with so-so results. Our arena is filled with rich fans (kind of like Munn) who shake their pom-poms to the beat of some techno song and occasionally do a "lets go red-wings chant." I like our young talent but anybody over the age of 38 needs to go.

I don't like the Pistons because we didn't draft Carmelo Anthony. You never pass up on oppurtunity to bring a star to your organization. Right now we have a bunch of good role players but you need a star to win a championship in the NBA.

The Pistons had a better record than NJ but the league automatically takes the two division leaders as the 1 and 2 seeds. The Pistons should be the #2 seed but instead they will get home court advantage against NJ this round.

I wish I could watch the Wings and Pistons tomorrow but I have to go to a dance recital:(

it's ironic that the Wings were injured all season and they still managed to win the Presidents Trophy. and I thought going into the playoffs everyone was going to be healthy. I copied this from somewhere else, but this unreal:

Chris Chelios has a partially torn rotator cuff.

Brett Hull had a broken toe.

Robert Lang had a broken hand.

Curtis Joseph had a torn ligament in his ankle which will require surgery.

Steve Yzerman was lost to a fractured orbital bone.

Brendan Shanahan, once again, will not reveal his injury, but from what I have read, Mr. Shanahan played with, at minimum, a Grade 2 sprain of his ACL or MCL. He should not have been playing hockey with that type of injury.

Steve Thomas returned and played despite tears in his groin.

Darren McCarty, the CBC revealed, had a severely sprained wrist.

And it is easy to assume that many more Wings were hurt.

I also would love to Dave Lewis gone, Ray Whitney, Boyd Devereaux and Jiri Fisher gone.

maybe your right about those players(especially fischer :violent ) but dave lewis is actually a pretty good coach. i mean, think about all the injuries we had this year, and yet we still had a great regular season. at one point we had like 10 guys from the griffins on the team. id personally like to see lewis stick around and he probably will too.

It's too bad we signed Hatcher to that enormous contract because now we can't get rid of him. I'm sorry, but he sucks.

dude, lay off big D a bit. i'm not saying he played great, but if there is anyone on the team that deserves the benefit of the doubt i would say it would be him. come on man, he sat out all year with a torn ACL and god knows what else and he came back within 6 months of the surgery to play. that's absurd. anyone who has had that type of surgery, including myself, will tell you it takes a lot longer than 6 months to feel any sort of normalcy again. and not to mention the sprained shoulder he suffered 3 weeks before the season ended. the guy was playing on one leg so cut him some slack.

He's a professional athlete. It is my God-given right to complain about it. If the injury was so bad, and they knew it was a hard one to come back from, then maybe he shouldn't have came back this year. All he was doing on the ice was bringing the team down. He was a liability on defense. Rivers could have stepped in. That's all I'm saying.

If anyone wants to do some Red Wings watching, Cheli's in Dearborn is the place to do it at. Two nights ago, my friend sat at the bar with Hull, Shanahan, Malty, McCarty and Rivers. And I saw Chelios and Hatcher there a few weeks ago.

it's definately a cool story. but even though they are one of the best teams in the league, and have a reasonably low payroll they still are in some serious debt, as are a lot of teams in the league. people in tampa don't care about hockey, unless of course it's the playoffs. and they definately weren't supporting them when they were losing year in and year out. that's why i'm not necessarilly cheering for them. the fans there don't deserve to see a stanley cup. the players by all means do, but the fans can fuck themselves. but with that said, i hope whoever comes out of the east takes it. hopefully it will be philly, but tampa is just as good.

What a heartbreaker for the Pistons last night....even though I have $100 on the Nets winning the series I was cheering balls out for the Pistons because that is where my heart is.

Then again though I've been saying ever since we lost last year in the play-offs and didn't draft Carmelo or Dwayne Wade WE NEED A SCORER! Chauncy is the closest thing we have...but when it came down to it the Pistons just couldn't score and put the game away. With our depleted bench last night it would've been nice to have a Melo or Wade to put in and make a contribution a la Prince last year.

Prince ran into somebody late in the 4th quarter and I think was playing hurt in all the OTs.....correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Jefferson play at least 2 OTs with 5 fouls??? And I was screaming at James to lay it in with 17 secs. left and instead he passed it to Chauncy who had a good look at a 3 but missed it and NJ got the rebound and the game was pretty much over.

On a lighter note Carlton was at the game last night and got a standing ovation from the 30 and under crowd.

On a lighter note Carlton was at the game last night and got a standing ovation from the 30 and under crowd.
I read that in the Free Press this morning. Makes the whole evening worthwhile:)

I was in DKE last year. They kicked me out this year because I didn't dues and didn't want to. I'm glad I'm not in there anymore. But I do still get their emails - they never took me off the list. I know the kid that did this, he was actually a resident in my hall this year.

yeah, so will the traffic, while i'm trying to drive by and go see thrice, motion city soundtrack, the get up kids, and dashboard confessional
they need to announce the score of the game in between bands at DTE, that would be nice

There is no way the Pistons are going to lose Game 7 at the Palace.

New Jersey looked gassed last night....they only play the same 6-7 players all game.

i remember a couple years ago at incubus at the van andel, it was during that playoff game vs the avs where we won 7-0. people out in the walkway would call people to check on the score, then the whole crowd would cheer. "holy shit, its already 2-0!" "We scored Again!!" "HOLY SHIT, 5-0!" etc. it was great

Is Higginson a cool guy?
He seemed like a nice guy. Kinda wiggerish. He was wearing a Philly 76er's baseball jersey and some weird white pants. He is a Philly guy so I guess it was alright. I'm pretty sure he said "yo dawg" to me when I shook his hand. I think him and Chelios were more interested in the ladies we were with but I understand that.

I always got the impression he was an ass. Maybe the divorce (or separation) cooled him off.

Same here, I don't think I'll give in this time. I'll probably get the CD/DVD one at Best Buy, but I'm not spending $55 for the audio set.

RJ's on my fantasy team too. :thumbsup

I turned it in the fifth inning (force of habit for Braves games) and watched it from then on. Awesome.

I remember this one time I had to turn down this one girl at CMU. It would've been cool to hook up with a freshmen but she had this huge sore that had been on her lip for the better part of a month. I had to pass on it. I wanted to ask her what it was but I decided but I didn't.

Does anybody want to trade tickets with me? I don't think I will be able to go to the second Polaris show and I like to trade for another date before I sell them. It's one of my best friends rehearsal dinner for his wedding. I know I could miss it if I want to but it is going to be a nice drunken night with a lot of friends.
