Wow, that's interesting. I always figured it was too small....venues like Deer Creek have a lawn that's double the size of Pine Knob. Also, I've heard they have an extremely high percentage of season-ticket-holders, so they can't give Warehouse enough of the good seats.

you're (unfortunately) right, Dan... Pine Knob is the biggest ampitheather in Michigan...
I'm hoping that DMB and/or Dave and Tim forego the "biggest" for the "best" someday... have you been to Cannonsburg or Frederick Meijer Gardens or Fifth Third Park for a live show, yet?
Just ask Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, David Byrne, or Bela Fleck...

Wow, 30 shows. That is a nice milestone. I don't think I'll be able to make it to 30 for about two years. Unless, of course, I come across a lot of money.
Does anybody ever get tired of explaining why you've seen the same band X amount of times? Or that every concert is different?

Lindsay, just do what I did. Don't go to class and party your ass off. Eat a lot of chinese food watch a lot of tv. Make sure you have every hour of the day mapped out so you know what station to flip to at any given moment. Only go to the store in the afternoon for cheese dogs and OJ. Only at night for alcohol. It's a fool proof plan. You can also use your roommates computer to look at porn. Don't tell them of course.

So here is my story
We have competition drumline practices from 8-11 pm every sunday night.
Back when I ordered these Dave tickets I thought our practices would be 3-6 on Sundays because that's what they were in 2002 when we did it and I had no reason to believe they would be different.
So our practices were changed to 8-11 for some odd reason so my buddy who is also going to the concert e-mailed our instructor like 2 or 3 weeks ago and told him about our situation and wanted to move our practice back to 3 pm....instead of taking care of the situation our instructor never e-mailed him back or talked about it...so when we confronted him about he said there was no way we would be allowed to miss.
This is my 5th year of Drumline and my 2nd year of Competitioin drumline....I've never missed a practice and this year I've literally spent every day since August drumming for this university in some form....
I feel bad but my ass is going to this concert.

Tell him exactly ^that. Tell him you've never missed a practice, and you won't ever again, but you need to miss this one.
And if you even think of missing this concert, remember this....you can practice drumming any time you want, but this will almost definitely be the only opportunity you ever have to see a concert like this.

then who comes rolling down the aisle....Joey Harrington and hot ass date....they were taken away so I assumed they got better seats. After Harper I went to take a piss and when I come back JOEY is sitting right behind me with this other white player and his date.
These kids in front of me asked for his autograph but he was being real low key about it so I didn't want to bother him...he looked like he was just trying to have a normal time. His date left like 3 songs in to go to the bathroom and Joey was gone before Neil came out.

Well, I know it holds 22,000 for sporting events, so I'd say it probably holds close to 20,000 for concerts.
There were many open parking spots when I walked into the Palace. It seemed like I wsa one of the last people to go in. Ben Harper was already onstage (sounded like he was playing Burn One Down). There were literally open rows of parking lot.
chellek23
10-04-2004, 07:11 PM
Yeah I parked close to the Palace last night probably the closest I've ever parked for a show. And getting out was pretty much a breeze compared to the past. Although I noticed empty seats up top it seemed like a good sized crowd and the energy was off the scale. If there was a lack in attendance (compared to past DMB shows) I'm guessing it had to do with the partisian nature of the show AND the fact that Springsteen/REM were playing in Ann Arbor on the same night. Seems like it would have a bit of a drain on attendance of both shows. I know of several DMB fans who chose to see Bruce over DMB...
Oh and I'm still grinning from the show last night! Unbelievable...

13000 seems about right. There were at least 10 empty rows in the very back upper sections of the arena. Plus, don't forget the behind-stage sections were closed, which really suprised me. I never remember them doing that, except for at stadiums.
siouxsiesue
10-04-2004, 08:50 PM
yeah, the whole back part of the stage was blocked, it was a small stage without the usual side seats. i'm thinking it had something to do with the setup and that circular/rotating stage that held all of the drum kits?
i have to say, that was one of the most seamless/flawless shows with 4 acts on the bill. i couldn't take a break for fear of missing someone's 1st song... well done, boys!

Should I trade Chris Brown right now? I think he might be reaching his peak for the season. I have an opportunity to get Ladanian Tomlinson.
I never noticed he soundcheck from 7.5.00. It is a concert in itself.
Soundcheck:
Seek Up (Dave solo)
instrumental jam ...>
True Reflections +
Stay (w/Last Stop Reprise)+
Busted Stuff + ***
Notes:
*** Either this night or the previous night (7.3.00) is incorrect. Both SC's are listed as the same, from 2 different sources. It's highly unlikely that the same songs were checked 2 nights in a row, so one is wrong. We just don't really know which one yet, so for now, both are listed.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) -- The Detroit Pistons scored 21 straight points in the fourth quarter to rout the Washington Wizards 100-82 in a preseason game Friday night.
Detroit trailed by two with 11 minutes left, but put together a 21-0 run to take a 85-66 lead with 6:07 to play. Smush Parker had six in the run and rookie Carlos Delfino, who won a gold medal with Argentina in Athens, added five. The Wizards committed eight turnovers during the streak.

I am going to beat ass in my fantasy basketball league. Here is how I drafted.
1. T- Mac
2. J. O'neal
3. Yao Ming
4. D. Wade
5. Artest
6. Rip
7. Sheed
8. Spree (hope he plays)
9. T. Parker
10. Harpring
11. Dampier
12. Bonzi
13. Broke down Chucky Atkins
I'm happy with this draft. O'neal is going to be out at least the first 5 games of the season but he'll a force when he's back. D. Wade is playing with Shaq now. I expect a lot more from him this season. Yao at the third pick was a steal. Artest is the reigning defensive POY. Good times.

I can't win shit in poker anymore. We started a Monday night tourney last week. I'm in second to last place. The nature of probability has caught up to you.
One thing to remember: if you double your bet every time you lose, you'll always end up with a $1 profit by the time you win. You can't lose! :lol

I played poker Monday night for the first time in a while, with a couple friends. I was higher than I have ever been in my life. Funny thing is, I came in second....but I don't ever remember playing a hand. In fact, I don't even remember what any of my cards were. I remember taking a huge pot from this one kid, but I have no idea what hand I won with or anything. And that's all I remember from that game.

I know most of you probably don't care, well probably 99% don't care, but Saturday at 4:30pm at Ford Field Eastern Michigan is playing Central Michigan in football. Should be a pretty good game, no really it should be. Tickets are $20 for the double header, the first game is Wayne State vs Hillsdale. But according to ticketmaster.com you can get tickets for as cheap as $5. Had to throw it out there for my school. We need all the help we can get attendance wise.

My dad got one of his many degrees from EMU and took me to a bunch of games when I was little....that's back when they were the Hurons though...they were badass.
Fight Fight Fight for Old EMU....reach for the sky the Huron's war cry the greatest...something something.
So Fight...Fight for old EMU and victory. or something like that.

You know honestly I have never seen the words to our old fight song. Hurons was long before my days here. I like your reply better than KJ's. ;)
"Eastern Eagles, hats off to you. fight fight fight for old emu. look to the sky the eagles will fly. the bravest we'll defy."
Go Eagles!
Oh man. It's the weekend. I don't have any expectations so that means it should be pretty alright.
