First of all, I have a Rogue electric guitar, (not the greatest) and I'm buzzing on the top string alone, i just hit it and it rings, and can get real annoying with an amp, what's the reason for that?
My dad agreed to get my an new acoustic electric to replace my acoustic, whats a good one for under 500$, though that's low, I hope to get a Martin or Taylor later.
One more question, I use a pop-in pickup for my acoustic with an amp. Does that type of pickup affect the soung of it and and would it be real different if I had a plug in pickup like Dave's guitars? Also if thats the solution, how much does it usually cost to have the plug put in the acoustic guitar and all for an actual pickup?

The buzzing means most likely that your string is too close to one of the frets. There are several things that could cause a buzzing. First check to see if the neck of the guitar is warped (look straight down from the head and see if it curves). If it's curved, that's not good.
The bridge may need to be adjusted too, this happened to my cheap stratocaster, some guitars need to be readjusted just about every year (did you say your's was new?).
Another thing that could be causing it, although i doubt this, sometimes the plastic piece at the top of the neck that guides the strings can get chipped (usually if you drop the guitar or something) and the string will rattle in the groove it goes in.

Sorry to make a new post but...
I just remembered, you can adjust the height of that one string yourself using an allen wrench. Depending on what type of bridge you have, I don't really know how to do it, but on some guitars you just turn a screw with the wrench and it changes the tension in the springs.
As far as your second question about buying an acoustic/electric. I would just buy a guitar with the pickups already installed. It's more convenient than using an external pickup.
There are a few threads in this forum reguarding peoples opinions on guitars for about $500. Just scroll down and browse some of them for peoples opinions, most of them are very informative (as far as opinions go).

Guitars can be adjusted, but onlyto a degree.
With a Rogue, it might not get much better than it is.
Best thing is to take it to the shop you bought it from, let them adjust it for you.
