I want to start performing, so I want to get a pickup installed in my guitar. Do certain pickups sound better with certain guitars? I play a Lakewood D-1, but I have no idea about which pickups are good and which should be avoided. Any help would be appreciated.

Koan-
I just had Mark Arnquist put an EMG pickup in my Larrivee. Mark has done some work on Dave's guitars and he did a flawless job on mine. He recomended the EMG after years of trying to find the right pickup. Im sure it depends on your playing style and your guitar, but i get a great acoustic sound with the setup. Im not quite sure what your looking for, but liek the fishmans its a piezo and it fits underneath the saddle with the elctronics all inside. Just a jack through the bottom strp button. The pickup was like $110 and the work was around $75. I play through a Marshall acoustic amp that I love. Have a good day, good luck, and thanks for the B&P. - Dean
