I've pretty much come to the conclusion that I'm not gonna be able to get a band together, so I'm gonna try the solo thing. The problem is I have too much DMB that I can play, and not enough other stuff.

What non-DMB songs are good solo?

Help me out!

I like that version of Everlong too, along with the acoustic version of Pardon Me by Incubus.

I thought about that, too. But the acoustic version of Pardon Me is nearly impossible to sing and play at the same time.

Then again I thought the same thing about The Stone a month ago. :D

Hey, jphel, Grand Forks? You in school??

Eric Clapton -Layla (acoustic version)
Eric Clapton- Tears in Heaven

Tim Reynolds- Stream (Really Hard)
Tim Reynolds- You are my sanity
Any Hendrix Song- Only good on electric Guitar though
Also think Solo Artists and Acoustic guitars

These songs have always worked real well for me, I did alot of personal adjusting to CCR(key, rythym, harmony). People tend to really like it when you cover someone elses song and make it your own.

Have you ever seen the rain-CCR
Bob Marley-Redemption Song
Friend of the devil-Grateful dead
harvest moon-neil young
waste-phish
Norweigian wood-Beatles

Howie Day is good. Not sure if you like his stuff but I found its good for me when I want to play something with emphasis on the vocals.

Playing DMB I realize that even subconsiously more of my mind is taken up with the guitar playing to really practice singing too well. Plus HD's range might be a little easier.
