hey, quick question about dmbtabs.com

Using dancing nancies as an example (it applies for almost every song) when nothing is written for a string, do you play it or not? For example, on the verse it says (from E-e) 32x4(nothing)(nothing). I realize the d string should not be played, but what of the B and e? Do I just use three fingers to pluck the strings that are fretted, or strum down while muting the D and and letting the B and e ring open? The same question applies for the "sing and dance part, first and last notes. Thanks for the help,
Shane

Basically what it means is that you try and only hit the strings where something is written. On Nancies for instance, only hit the bottom 4 strings(top 4 when holding the guitar). It's pretty easy. Anything with an x is hit, but not fretted(therefore muted). The bottom strings in Nancies or just not played. Anything that should ring open will be indicated by a 0 on the fretboard. It could always be muted but it may not be the sound you are looking for. It def takes practice to strum and only hit the strings you need but in time you will get it....good luck and keep going back to the site, nexst 5 days are going to be awesome....lata
