has anyone seen that TV infomerical with esteban playing that guitar thats only 100$. To me it seems like a good deal and i have a friend who wants a guitar, and i dont see anything wrong with that one. It sounded good and looked good. Does anyone know why he shouldn't get that guitar?

Yeah I saw that shit and laughed myself right out of my chair. I even went to his website for some more laughs. All I can say is DON'T buy that shit. You DO NOT get a good guitar for $100 unless you find some super score at a garage sale and they don't realize what they're selling. I guarantee you'd get a piece of shit in the mail. I think a better idea would be to spend twice that much and get something decent than risk wasting a hundy on Esteban and his bullshit. The reason they sell shit like that on t.v. is b/c it is just that, shit. You say, oh hell that's a killer deal. I could never find something that nice for the money. Remember your parents telling you,"If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" ?

i saw him compare his "$10,000" guitar to the one he was selling...
the sad thing is, he's actually an accomplished guitarist. i believe he studied with andres segovia...but he's sold out.

he obviously must not know jack about guitar...b/c he said it was his signature design and he came up with the design...ok well about that....if it was such good quality it wouldnt be 100 bones on an infomercial...and funny...it looks strikingly similar to a Martin...and tryin to rip people off with a shit guitar while being "an accomplished guitarist" is a huuuuge sellout move...I'd encourage people to buy quality not particle board with strings...garauntee he never plays that guitar....:lol

yea, i saw the same informercial, laughed the whole time. The thing is a peice of shit all around, I'd totally agree. Accomplished guitarist or not, its a pure sellout. Get a student quality no name brand or even a lower cost fender or ibanez to get started on. If you get him the $100 infomercial one, if he he knew of the radiating bullshit he'd beat you over the face with it and while you were holding your face castrate you with the high e string.

I imagine it's a crap guitar, but I'd buy one if it came with that awesome outfit he wears.
Oh, his real name is Stephen Paul BTW. Segovia thought it would be a good idea to call him Esteban for some reason. Maybe he was senile by that point and called everyone Esteban. Like that South Park episode where Stan's grandpa called everyone Billy.

My dad has been playing guitar a lot longer than any of us unless we have ants that are 60+ on here. He has numerous guitars that are worth a lot and are older than me, the first guitar that he gave me was older than me and I'm 25. Any ways, we were watching TV one day and saw Esteban on the shopping network. My dad and I watched it for a while and he finally said that he wanted to know if the guitar really sounded like that, so he ordered it. It came to him about week later. It's not the best guitar in the world, but with some new strings I imagine it would sound decent. It really isn't that bad of a deal, I mean you get a guitar for $100 with 2 sets of strings, a strap, a case, a video that teaches you greensleves and something else, and a bunch of other crap. The neck is very wide and good for people that have large hands. Since I have large hands its easier for me to make some of the chords I struggle with on my guitar. Just to learn on, then yeah it's fine but I would never use it for a jam session with friends, only in the privacy of my bedroom where no one can see the Esteban sig in the sound hole :)

My grandpa bought one cuz he thought it was gonna be this "great guitar" it was complete crap, he sent it back. it was really funny. Maybe worth $20, if you pay $100 for that you are getting screwed

Esteban is the Spanish version of Stephen.
