you shouldn't really convert the wavs back to shn because the md5's won't verify.

If you go into the mkw file options, there is a box marked "delete input files after lossless (mkw or SHN) processing"

make sure that box is unchecked and it will keep your original shn files and create the wav files as well so you do not need to try to reconvert them.

Going from wavs back to shn will create the EXACT same md5.

Those are backup files. This means that you have the files already and your making them again. Go over your files. You should already have the shns if you are getting backup files.

Like numbr41 was getting at, the only time you will have to make the shns again is if you had mkw delete them after you converted them to wavs. If you don't have it doing that then you should have a wav and a shn for each track until you delete one of them on your own.

yeah you shouldnt convert them when you have to do shn-->wav-->cd-->wav-->shn or like joe said as well.

Might they be seek tables not backup files, I think the graphic looks the same.

UNLESS youre going from seeking -> non seeking or vice versa, most likely the reason people think it gives you faulty files.

My bad, I think I may have been told somewhere that it does change them. I've never tried to reconvert back to shn though to try it since I keep the original shns.

I guess you learn something new everyday.

Just cause it doesn't hurt:

SHN > WAV > SHN = GOOD

SHN > WAV > CD > FROM CD BACK TO WAV > SHN = BAD

CD > WAV > SHN = BAD

SHN > WAV > SHN will result in the same md5 no matter what (unless you append a seekfile when there was none to start).
