Agreed. Use Nero over WMP. It's definately not crap, as it can burn things that some programs can't (cept those stupid BIN/CUE things....grrr....;)).
I just tried to burn something with WMP, and it told me I had to reboot, so that's not happening now. But, I did look through some options, and found nothing related to DAO burning. You might be SOL...

wmp won't do DAO no matter what....please use a quality burning program like nero. it is more reliable and support many more features than any other burning software

I mostly use Nero Burning ROM, but make sure you choose DAO (Disc At Once)
If there's still a 2 second gap burn it again using Acoustica CD Burner (http://www.acoustica.com/mp3-cd-burner/download.htm)
I'm sure that if Nero won't work this will. Just select Fader-> no silence between tracks

if you burn an audio cd w/ nero, make sure to select all of the tracks after the first one and set the "pause" to zero seconds.

if you still dont want to lay down the 40-50 bucks for nero. use musicmatch jukebox from musicmatch.com
it gets the job done but burns at a slower speed.
i'd recommend you burn nero so then in the future you can also make vcds, picture slide shows, etc.
