I was having one of those annoying talks with my parents today about my future and they asked me what i wanna do with my life. i have ALWAYS wanted to be involved in music but as a kid i never had proper music education at school cos all the kids were jerks and just couldn't be assed to learn-so i missed out....but i've always dreamt about being a songwriter cos its what i'm passionate about and what i love .....but i've had no musical theory education etc....so my question is ( sorry 'bout the rambling!)...is it too late to learn music and to make a career out of it(hopefully make a career)....i'm 19.
thanks 4 u'r help....

It's never too late. I didn't begin playing guitar until 20. I also had no musical background. I've taught myself and now, after a few years of actually being able to play stuff, all I do is write my own music. Go for it man. You'll be happy you did.

19 is certainly not too late (if there even is such a time).

and if nothing else [coz even if yo are extremely talented it doens't mean you'll be able to make money off of it] you'll be very glad you took your passion serious and you'll be happy for it.

You think Green Day was extremely talented when they started writing? They had the musical knowledge of a crack baby. Do what makes you happy

Its never to late to learn music, as long as your motivated and enjoy it. Im 16, ive played the drums for 8 years, and self taught guitar for 1, I choose to do A-level music at college but relised i would need an understanding of music theory and be able to play classical guitar to grade 5 level. Took alot of work, but my lecturer was both a brilliant teacher and guitarist and within 4 months i was playing guitar well enough (dave streches make classical guitar easy :p ) and had a solid grasp of theory.

Just make sure you dont get too analylitical about music, then i becomes bland.
